Possible Brain Cancer Cure

A chemical in cannabis or marijuana could provide new treatments for brain cancer. The active ingredient present in the drug, called cannabinoids, could kill or shrink brain tumours by blocking the growth of blood vessels. Scientists found that the treatment reduced levels of VEGF (substance which allows tumours to grow) in two patients. Further studies are needed to develop an effective cannabinoid combination.

My mom was just found to have a brain tumor. We don't know if it's cancer or not yet. She was fine until the week before my son's wedding when she suddenly had a seizure. They found it during a round of follow-up tests late last week.

They'll be doing a biopsy on the 30th of this month and will probably do surgery the next day depending on what they find.

Fortunately she has absolutely no pain and it hasn't slowed her down a bit except she can't drive right now. She's still swimming and walking and shopping just as she's always done.

I'm going to keep this post handy should we need it later.

Iam so sorry to hear about your mom, Jan. My thoughts and prayers are with her and your family. I hope that the tumor turns out benign, and that she will be fine.
If they could find a cure for brain cancer, this would be wonderful news, Lime. My father had a friend who died of brain cancer a few years ago at only 55 years old. A breakthrough like this could have saved him, and can now hopefully save others like him. This would be a Godsend for sufferers of this horrid disease.

Thanks everyone for your prayers and good wishes. This was kinda scary because my dad died about 4 years ago of Brain Cancer but it actually originated as an aggressive Lung Cancer. This is quite different from what my dad went through.

So we're keeping up the positive thoughts and feelings. Mom is really doing well as I said before. She has a very positive sense about all this. She's an amazing woman and I'm thankful to call her my mom.

I'll keep ya updated.
