Ross was "supposed to have the shot" in a day, but, with his mind racing due to Larry's condition, Ross felt like he needed a break.
Ross called his Doctor, and explained to the Doctor that Ross's best friend had been in the hospital for weeks with serious heart problems. Ross then further asked the Doctor if it would be "dangerous" for Ross to postpone the shot a week to allow himself time to calm down and deal with the pain.
Since Ross had already pushed the shot up three weeks, and was not really in pain, the Doctor said no, and the shot was definitely scheduled for the following week.
Ross decided to go home, "Face The Music" and confess the plan to Kayley.
Kayley, while not thrilled, reluctantly understood due to the fact that Ross was still going into the office, out to meetings, basically bouncing around, and except for a bit of pain, seemed fine.
Ross promised Kayley that he would have a nurse on call and would stay no more than two nights and three days.
