Well, a bunch of brainless barbarians just killed the man they were holding hostage...leaving behind a wife and (I believe?) a child, or children....

Sick fucks. I swear to God, my cats have more brain power than these wastes of human garbage. All they know is terror and hatred....yeah, keep leaning on those crutches, dickheads...'cuz we all know you'll be handicapped the rest of or pitiful lives, anyway.

I pray for the family of that guy. May God put an end to terror.

A Helping Hand

Once in a while you have to "help" things along, because God or whatever omnipotence is in the universe is busy with soccer games and such, so I imagine we'll give justice a bit of a push..... Q

I assume we're talking about the WSJ reporter. Sorry to hear about it, but I can't say that I'm surprised.

Gee, and some people call ME a barbarian for advocating stern measures against these bastards. Go figure...

Strelnikov

His name was Daniel Pearl, and he left behind a wife, seven months pregnant.

One thing that he did manage to do was to prove his captors' claims of righteousness to be nothing more than smoke and mirrors, a holy shield to protect a coward's motives.

It has become apparent to me that the U.N. no longer functions. While we sit and endlessly debate every piece of minutia, evil depends on our complacency to survive. I am generally a peacful person, but I am starting to think that proactive aggression may be the only way to rid the world of this infestation of moronic, childish evil. How many more must die in the name of some version of God, before God Himself has had enough? If the world will not act, then maybe the U.S. should. Not by bombing the whole planet into a lifeless ember, but by going after those we KNOW are responsible, those that we KNOW are planning even more horrendous acts, and stop waiting for the rest of the world, cowering behind protocol and procedure.

New marines motto

"It's Gods job to forgive people, it's OUR job to arrange the meeting!"

So much evil...it literally hurts to watch the news at times. We need to truly come together as a nation, and exercise our will and let our moral outrage shout down the pathetic little naysayers that try to justify actions by these "people" (that was for you dvnc, although I personally perceive them as "defective hunks of wasted protoplasm", I know you don't want us dehumanizing them...). Dave is correct in many ways..we're being too reactive. This reminds me of how my dear 'ol Dad told me to handle the school playground bully. "Walk straight up to him while he's laughing with his buddies and deck him"...seemed violent at the time, but I wonder how many kids didn't get beat up because I did deck him and end his reign of abuse. We just can't seem to get out of kindergarten, even as adults...sigh. Q

When I become a journalist after 3 years of college, this man will be my role model and hero. I want to be like him, unafraid to cover the truth, writing the wrongs and bringing the news to the people. Good on ya Daniel.

I was taught that God will not interfere with man's exercise of free will...only reward or punish.
As for the UN,I never considered them anything except a world government hopeful, and an inept one at that. They are serving more as apologists for these terrorist types than any force for change, and the US serves as a favorite target for gripes and complaints.
It has been alluded to before that sometimes you have to "drop the gloves" to straighten things out.So far,the Mr. Nice Guy routine has only brought more problems from those willing to take advantage. It has taken years to get to this point,it will take years of asskicking
to fix it.

Unfortunately every reporter wants to be the next Wolf Blitzer. There was no need for this guy to even be over there. Nothing constructive could have came from it. Why would a guy with a pregnant wife take such an assignment? StrokeOfGenius was right on the money with his barbarian comment. David Pearl being there served no purpose, and his death stood even less of a purpose. I'm dreading when they finally show the footage of his assassination.
BigglesOf266 is correct about the truth needing to be known, but I've noticed that the United States is one of the only countries to tell the truth, contrary to popular belief.
Whatever there is to know about terrorists is already known, and that is the fact that they don't value human life. They ARE barbarians. They have gained Zero from the Trade Center and from killing David Pearl.
Putting reporters in war areas only makes us vulnerable. We couldn't possibly have been expected to release Taliban and Al-Qaeda prisoners. During times of war we should be worried about our safety, knowledge comes secondary.

sorry, but I don't think that's really fair to all the other countries who are backing Bush's war. Australia for one has an excellent news service. You callin us liars? 😛

I think I speak for evey American when I say that we appreciate the support of all of our allies, wether it be Australia, England, etc.
Another good thing about Australia are the two Australian sisters I met in the TMF chat room. I can't wait until their pics are posted to the Forum.

Wallstreet did say the US was ONE of the only countries.

Q, maybe I've misinterpreted your post, but I don't see DVNC as a "little naysayer". He and Dave strike me as being "warrior liberals" for whom politics stops at the water's edge.

Not sure I agree with Wallstreet. Reporters have a job to do, and it's an important one. But they should be aware of the risks they take, and not demand special status.

As for "dropping the gloves"... I've said enough on that topic elsewhere.

dvnc...

Nah...just the part about them being theoretically human was for my buddy dvnc...he doesn't like it when we call them "in"-human, but I have no doubt as to where his heart lies in matters of brutality like this...didn't mean to imply anything of that sort. Q

Strel, I think I understand what you mean here, but I want to make sure I'm not reading you wrong before I respond. Too many times, things get responses that weren't intended. If what you mean is that I'll use politics and diplomacy to try to solve conflict, but "stop at the water's edge" when no option is left save an armed response...you are correct.

The "warrior liberal" label is pretty accurate. I believe in giving as much time as needed for diplomacy to work before resorting to any kind of armed conflict. However, there is a time when the defenders need to defend and the warriors need to wage war. I believe that time is now. I am in no way suggesting that we sweep across the planet with our weapons of mass-destruction with no regard for the consequesnces, only that we no longer need anyone's permission to go after those that we know are responsible...not only for the recent acts, but the ones we know are being planned. Even the potential for destruction is something we need to address.

If someone is walking up your driveway in a black mask, carrying a gun and making a bee-line for your back door, do you wait until after they've entered, killed your family and stolen your possesions to react? No, you call the police. If the police do not arrive before the intruder reaches your door, do you not then have the resposibility to protect yourself and your family?

I know it's a loose analogy, but you get my point.

Let me know if this is what you meant, Strel, because that's how I took it.😎

It Is Awful
