Prayers needed

Two days ago in Wal-Mart, I saw something that will haunt me for the rest of my life. I heard a cashier cry out and dive out from behind her register. She was diving to catch a seven month old baby girl as she fell from a shopping cart. The poor little angel, all bundled up in a pink snowsuit, went right over the side and landed face-first on the cement floor. The distraught cashier was beside herself because she couldn't reach the baby in time to save her. I can still hear the sickening thump as she hit the floor. The baby never moved or made a sound. A crowd gathered and I lost sight of her, but I still never heard her cry. She was taken away in an ambulance to the hospital where I work. I don't code emergency room records, so it would be unethical of me to check on the baby. I hope she survived, but I just don't know. Please pray for the poor little baby, her family and that heart-broken cashier who tried in vain to save the baby.

Omg, how horribly tragic. Please do see if you can get any word on that precious little angels condition. I don't think you or anyone who reads this thread will be able to stop thinking the worst until something more is known.

My prayers are with that poor little sweetheart, and with her family as well. I pray they don't lose her. And may that guilt struck employee eventually realize it couldn't be helped and they should be commended for making the attempt to provide a different ending to that horrible scene.

Scoured the internet looking for evidence that the plasticity of youth might be in favor of this little kid.
Bad news. Kids less than 2 years old do worse recovering from brain injury than do older kids (3-15).

The suggestions to find out the condition of the baby were already posted so I am not going to repeat what everyone just said, however, I will reiterate that the baby, her family, and the employee who tried to rescue her are in out prayers. Let this be a Merry Christmas for everybody! Needless to say, that would be the best gift the family can get right now.

I was able to find out today, that baby Jewell arrived at our hospital still alive. She was life-flighted to Albany Med in critical condition. Albany has a pediatric trauma team in house. I won't be able to find out anything from Albany. This is a case of "no news is good news" because now the only way I will know what happened is if I see her passing in the newspaper. So far, so good. I appreciate your prayers and I'm sure her family would as well. Wouldn't this be a great time for a Christmas miracle?

I'm glad to hear that she arrived at the hospital alive. there seems to be a glimmer of hope. Getting transfered to Albany was probably the best option for her seeing the service it provides. I will still keep my fingers crossed for the girl, her family, and the cashier who made a heroic attempt to rescue her so she can get peace of mind.
