I don`t think any of this years crop of quarterbacks is worthy of being the #1 overall pick so its highly unlikely the Rams will pass on Ndamukong Suh. Mel Kiper Jr. rates him as the best defensive tackle he`s scouted in 32 years in the business. And as much as I`ve enjoyed watching Tim Tebow, my guess is he won`t be drafted until the 3rd or possibly 4th round. Far too slow of a delivery with his throws, and he struggled tremendously in the Senior Bowl practices and game because he couldn`t take a hike from the center because of playing only in the spread offense. He would be a good gate attraction in Jacksonville, so I hope the Jags select him at some point.

Agreed to the fullest. However, I believe Todd McShay had the Lions picking Gerald McCoy over Suh... I have NO IDEA why McShay would think that or why the Lions would do it (Since the Millen Era is dead).

Other random thoughts:

While the Hawks NEED OL, would they pass on Eric Berry when their secondary stinks as well??? They still have #14 to nab an OL. Also, that RB from Cal (his name eludes me at the moment) would be nice there. He could help take pressure off an aging H-Beck and spread the field for Carlson, Branch, Burleson and Houdz. It's going to be interesting to see what Carroll does there, because the Hawks have all kinds of needs on both sides, but could just play their strengths and play Russian Roullette every Sunday.

And if Burgh does take a NT, that will pretty much end the Casey Hampton era... not sure how I'd feel about that. I feel like Hampton has some gas left in the tank and Burgh has one more shot at the SB in the next 2-3 years, but a replacement NT will be needed sooner or later. Personally, I'd rather go for OL or DB in the first and draft DL later on (and more in quantity to help out Aaron Smith and Keisel, too!).

We'll see, though.

Spiller on the Niners?! DANGEROUS! Gore-Spiller would be one hell of a tandem and give them a dual-receiver combo out of the backfield which may open it up for Vernon Davis.

Also, will Singletary target WR's or stand pat w/ the rag-tag crew he has? And will he take a flyer on a QB in the 3rd/4th round?

Niners are on the cusp of a return to prominence here. This draft will be huge for them.

Is this a list you found somewhere or is this your early evaluation of the draft

Just curious because it has many really odd and unrealistic draftpicks.

I would be shocked if the Rams bypassed Suh; he is a once in a decade type of player .

I haven`t seen a mock draft yet where Berry has dropped lower than 4th and Redskins are targeting Clausen not Bradford as of right now. I would much rather have Bradford than Clausen; to me Clausen has Rick Mirer written all over him.

I recently saw where Kiper Jr. said Tebow would be lucky if he didn`t fall to the early 4th round

The Rams will pick Suh. They'd be idiots not to.

Clausen will probably go to the Redskins, and Bradford will probably go to the Seahawks.

My weird pick of the first round is the Cardinals picking Colt McCoy. I think they'll aim for a QB now that Warner is gone.

I really, really, REALLY hope not. Hawks have so many needs and QB is not one of them.

Besides, they could always nab on in the 3rd/4th... but this is Carroll...

Well, yes and no. They do have plenty of roles that need improvements; however, Hasselbeck seems to have become somewhat of a disappointment. He did bring the Hawks to their first Super Bowl, but... he's injured too often these days.

It's not his performance that is an issue, but rather his endurance. Because of his past injuries and the liabilities they entail, now would be a good time to start looking ahead for the franchise before Hasselbeck either retires or goes to another team.

Good Freaking god....as a Redskin fan, I DON'T WANT EITHER CLAUSEN OR BRADFORD to be picked....where is the big weakness on the Redskins right now? O-LINE!!! It won't matter if we get either of those QBs...if we don't have a halfway decent offensive line, the QB won't make any damn difference. I would rather draft a guy like LeFevour later on and get Campbell or Okung with that number 4 pick and sure up the O-Line, thats where ANY good team has progress, and with Shannahan in there, he's gonna NEED to address that line first and foremost.

Yup. Same thing for the Hawks.

Skins will probably pick Bradford though. But OL is the way to go. They have viable threats in Cooley, Moss, Thomas, etc. They just need time to throw and a QB with some confidence.

EDIT: And quite honestly, only the Rams, Bills and Panthers NEED QB's. The Cards, Skins and Browns could use one, but it is by no means a neccessity just yet. Considering the lack of elite QB's and how some have busted recently (JaMarcus & Quinn), I'd be wary of picking a QB so high in general.

It's my own mock of the 1st round. Some teams I know better than others which might be the reason some of the picks are head-scratchers.

The Rams are rebuilding from the ground up and most new regimes go with a QB first. I would actually be surprised if they went with Suh instead of Clausen.

I've seen Berry all over the place in mocks, from the 3rd to the 13th pick. Yes, he's an amazing talent, but safety's are not usually drafted in the top 5. Also, the real strength of this years draft is in the trenches with DTs and OT's. Berry would be the flashier pick, but teams with line problems had better get one of the elite guys early. Berry will probably go top 10, but unless the Bucs or Cheifs snag him, he'll probably be there after the top 5 finish picking.

As for Tebow, the Jags have themselves a problem. Tebow is potentially the only thing that could keep them from moving to LA, and if they don't draft him early, they not only risk losing him to another team, but they risk losing their home city as well. I'll be surprised if they don't take him in the top 2 rounds.

As a Niners fan, I REALLY hope that they Grab Spiller. Glen Coffee can be Gore's backup, but he's not a change of pace back nor is he a game breaker...and Gore's hasn't been healthy for an entire season since 06.

Given that Crabtree and Morgan have solidified themselves as the starting two, I would doubt that they would be looking to draft a receiver early. However, after those two, there's a sharp talent drop-off. I would hope that we pick up somebody like Jacoby Ford or Danario Alexander in the middle rounds.

As for a QB, the jury's still out on whether the Niners will draft another one since they picked up Davis last year in the 5th. Personally, I would like to see them take a shot with a guy like Zac Robinson or Dan Leveour. I'm of the school of thought that believes that QB is such an important position that you should draft a QB every year, regardless of who's currently on your roster.

This is just MY mock draft people. The point of this thread was for people to post their own mocks and discuss.

Holy crap, I forgot about Crabtree! *whistles*

If he ever delievers like most thought he would, add in Davis, a Gore-Spiller combo... So long as the D plays as consistent as it did last year, the Niners could win 9+ regardless of the QB. And if they did get one...

EXACTLY the type of QB that alot of teams should be looking at. Middle-rounder, great QB for a MAC program. I'm not going to say 'shades of Big Ben' or even Josh Cribbs (because the memory of Charlie Frye is fresh), but there are other QB's than Bradford, Clausen, Tebow and McCoy that I think may have a future in the league.

Niners are in an interesting situation, though. Smith hasn't broken out yet and there is a lack of savvy vets (unless they traded for a Campbell or H-Beck... eesh!). I'm going to follow them intently, for nothing else, out of deep curiousity.
