Hey guys! What I'd like to hear about in this thread is memories you may have about tickling-related media before it became readily available on the internet.

What "started" it for you?

For example, did you ever browse through an adult magazine and unexpectedly stumble upon a picture or article that involved tickling?

Please share your memories, the more details the better!

I used to come across articles occasionally in Dear Abbey and even Penthouse, but looking back now I could tell they were just closet ticklers writing in. But I admit - they sure caught my eye. I even read a story in Reader's Digest once about a summer camp and the girls in the camp snuck in and tied the boys up and laced their feet tight together to the bed rails and (among other things) tickled them all morning until the camp counselor caught them. Good thing it wasn't Jason Vorhees territory yet!

The first pre-internet time I saw any gritty hardcore tickling material that blew me away (and still does) was from three House of Milan publications, Hogtie, BASTINADO! and Tied & Tickled (I still have the first premier test issue they released from 1980 prior to it's long run starting in '83 and it is like no other material anywhere even to this day. Sadly the run deteriorated after '85)

Years later in CA through the auspices of friends in the photography world, I was thrilled to meet two of the men behind creating some of these magazines and they both turned out to be really cool gents and very much respected experts in the BDSM genre. Although one is no longer with us, I remained in close contact with them both and have attended private play parties with the other.

As I was writing this I had to go pull out two of the old issues, one produced by Bishop & Kujman that's my favorite because those two never used models they chose instead genuine people from the bdsm fold. But a thought struck me- how odd it is to think that these ladies, hopefully still living, may be great grandmothers by now!

I would pore over women's magazine in the college library for bare feet pics/any tickle talk -- Cosmo, etc. I also committed my only crime at that library. I discovered in the card catalog that they had a book called "Sex Life of the Foot and Shoe," by William Rossi. For months, it was checked out, but then one day, I found it on a rack of books set to be re-shelfed, so it was just returned that day. I grabbed it, impulsively ran to the men's room, removed the security strip and stole it. I'd do it again. No, it was wrong, but I'd do it again. I rationalized it this way: It was never on the shelf anyway, checked out for VERY long periods (no, the pages weren't sticky). I eventually got a VCR in my apartment off-campus toward the end of my college years and found out somehow that there were tickle-porn videos made, so I found out where adult shops were -- mostly near airports -- and took several busses to them, then paid fucking outrageous prices for mediocre tickling VHS tapes -- those old "Student Fetish" series tapes, like 70 bucks a tape. I had three or four at one time. What a fucking young fool. By '97, there were video clips online for free. Had I just waited four years....

You 2 guys were lucky to have known of and found books, mags and even early videos. I had no idea such a thing existed and always thought I was some weirdo with a unique "only person in the world" fetish. I would have to resort to finding small and short female foot tickling in mainstream TV and film as well as looking for feet pics in mags, etc and use my imagination (and sometimes id get my jollys in real life with girlfriends "secretly" if ya know what I mean).

I remember the first decent thing I ever seen on TV/film was in the film "Chain Of Desire" in the early 90s on late night cable with the one scene (clip has been on here in the early TMF days with the label "beardtk"). When I seen that, I happened to have been high as a kite after a party I was at and i'll tell ya, I got off so hard to that scene like never before while "under the influence" LOL Couldn't believe it.

After that small treat, it wasn't till very late 90s when I got on the internet and discovered tickle porn vids and that I wasn't alone in the world...and shortly after that, found the TMF when it was only some months old...and that's my deprived pre-internet struggle with my foot tickle fetish 🙂

Penthouse Forum was my go to for stories. That was the first monthly I found to address tickling, back in the early 80's. Every month I would check out the latest issue quickly to see if there were either an article or letter in the readers pages about tickling. If there was, I bought the issue. If none, I didn't. More often than not there was at least a letter or two. Prior to that, I had to experience my own tickling of whoever was within reach! 😛

I will never forget the first time I realized I wasn't alone with my love of tickling.

I was around 13 years old, and I was reading the Daily News (New York newspaper.) This was probably around 1993-94? I came across the personals, and started reading the tiny ads out of curiousity.

In the 1970's, about once a month I used to browse through adult book stores (a misnomer since 99% of what they sold was magazines). I was looking for tickling material and/or sole shots of barefoot women. I often found neither.

The breakthrough was House of Milan, which began to have such material in their publications Bound to Please and Hogtied in the mid-1970's. It proved to be popular enough that they later came out with Tied and Tickled.

As I sit here at my laptop, with many thousands of free photos of tickling and of barefoot women available to me, the 1970's really do seem like the Dark Ages to me, even though I lived through them as an adult.

A quick search reveals the fact that there are thousands of us out there...wasn't like that when I was a kid, I felt really isolated and strange. Let's not forget print media. As a kid I actually got excited reading the definition of "tickle" in the dictionary. City or university libraries offer references to tickling in stories, plays, history, mythology, psychological studies, which I searched and read avidly.
