Problem when logged into chat

Hey everytime i log into the chat there are alot of black blotchs where icons are supposed to be and a black outline on the chat window . I can see whats being said its just alot of black blotchs when i click over them it dissapears for a second but reappears and the thing is i never had that problem until i just downloaded the most recent version of AIM so idk if that its connected or what .
