Problem with the chat room

Hi..I just bought a new computer, and everytime I try to go into the the chat room..The window opens and then just closes itself..could somebody please help me out?

One possible issue could be with your Java. Try going to the following page, http://java.com/en/download/installed.jsp and clicking "Verify Installation." If the resulting page does NOT say "Congratulations, you have the latest version of Java" or something similar, you need to update Java. This can be done by going to http://java.com/en/ clicking "Download Now »" and then following the instructions. I can help you with that if you need help, but if so please let me know what internet browser you use (Internet Explorer 7, Mozilla Firefox, Safari, Konqueror, etc).

I verified the instalation and it did say Congratulations..so I have the latest version..any other ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Ah, might be a pop-up blocker then. Time to try another internet browser. Try downloading and installing Mozilla Firefox, http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/ or Opera, http://www.opera.com/ and accessing the chatroom then. The browser change is the easiest way to tell if it is a browser or system problem. If it doesn't work with a browser change, we can try to find the program (A pop-up blocker, probably) that is interfering.

I'm having the same problem. I bought a computer with Vista operating system, and the chatroom opens, then closes on it's own after a few seconds.
