Not sure whether this is in the right place or not to ask...feel free to move it if it isn't.

There has been a few times where I've dug myself a hole when my friends and family ask who am I chatting to online.I can never get away with just saying "oh just my friends/other mate"they always ask who it is coz they might know who I'm talking to if they are college or uni friends.And usually 9 times outa 10 the true answer is that I'm chatting to someone I've met in a tickling forum.Once I said that I met them in a music forum but it wasn't very believable.lol.

So...I was wondering have you ever had to come up with different places as to where you've met different people to avoid saying a tickling forum?

I definitely have before. I've got a page on myspace, so I usually say it's someone from there or something. Either that, or I feign temporary amnesia.

I came out to my family and vanilla friends a while ago.
I just say "it's the K-man's stuff".
They get the hint and leave me alone.

Usually I just say "a forum". Luckily for me, nobody has ever pursued the matter any further than that. 😀

my family and my frends don't know eithe(maby misspelled) exept myboyfriend but we don't talk about it.. Whwn I'm in the tickleforum I'm in lunarstorm on the same time so when I'm in forums and my mum is comming I shut down forums and go to lunarstorm instead..

Heh yea, I've had that problem not only on this forum but chatting with pple from this forum on messenger which my grandmother doesn't know I have. I usually tell her I'm playing a game or emailing a friend from Florida (who used to live here, a close friend of mine, not a made-up person).

My little sister found out that I was emailing a few of my buddies from here I told her I was emailing someone I met in a "writers" forum 😉. Hey, I've posted a tickling story here! It's not a total lie!!!

But my point rests: sometimes we get pushed around while we should be firmer and claim it's just a private matter.
No lies can beat that: "it's my own stuff. Please mind your own business".

Wait a sec: I was not born *open*.
I had to struggle, as anybody else, to get some respect from people around me.
It took time and effort.
And I'm not blatant about my fetish among strangers either.

I just avoid being all-out secretive, especially considering this is *my* puter, I went to buy and build, and nobody can tell me what I can watch or do with it.
There are a couple of ways to teach overbearing friends and relatives a good lesson on mutual respect.

I used to have a problem w/my mother walking in on me while I was on the comp and wanting to know what I was doing (and that was VERY often). So what I did was have several different pages open so that the webpage icons merge into one. Then I just minimize whenever someone comes in. Chances are their not going to be interested enough to look through all 8 of ur pages, atleast in my case. And now that I have a laptop, well, no one ever knows what I'm doing.

I used to say I met my people on e-Bay and work...

Then they began questioning! :l

But then people tried answering what my fetishes for themselves because I was being so secretive about it. (they basically spread rumours).

So one day I decided to reveal the truth and it actually turned out ok! ^_^

I mean course I got a few "wtf?!?!?" but then again the majority of the people who asked me went "meh, fair enough!".

Gosh, I can say I really never had any problems like these...my parents pretty much left me alone when it came to my personal life. I guess they kind of figured as long as I was staying out of trouble and doing OK in school, what was the harm in chatting on the internet? That was of course 10 years ago before the big risk of online predators was such a big thing. I never talked much about to any one on my family, but I am sure they kind of figured it out. I never really tried to hide - just wasn't a very sociable topic -

kind of like masturbation...everybody does it, and everybody knows everybody does it, and nobody really talks about it - at least not around the family get togethers and such! lol
