Questions about planning a gathering

I previously tried to organize a gathering in my region, and it didn't work out. There simply weren't enough women here -- at least not from the TMF -- to make it work.

With the summer weather about to arrive, my interests have once again been sparked, and I'm interested in giving this another try -- possibly shooting for something in August (it may take that long to pull it together).

Do any of you know of good places in Chicago or Milwaukee to advertise something like this? I already know I'll have to go beyond the membership of the TMF to make this work, but I'm not sure where to start.

I'd welcome any ideas.

Speaking from experience, don't just post on the TMF, but also post in whatever Yahoo groups you are a member of, and maybe start a Myspace group for tickling in your area. Post about the event, where appropriate, wherever you are a member. Start early - planning now for an August event is NOT too early! - and be prepared to wait; there are always last minute people wanting to join up, and folks who just don't check the messages in their "groups" with regularity. make sure there is a cut off date for people to join up, especially for single males. E-mail your friends who are a part of your tickling world, for good measure.

I'm interested in advertising offline as well. Last time, I started a Yahoo group and posted at other online venues, but it didn't work.

If there are any apporpriate clubs or papers in Chicago andother communities that allow advertising for such events, I'd really like to pursue that.

Any ideas?

If it doesn't put you off you may want to try advertising around the BDSM groups there, anywhere where there might be some overlap (bondage or foot fetishists maybe?) Google is your friend in this regard.

There used to be a Hellfire club in Chicago - is that still around? There are some pay-for-play doms in Chicago & would assume that they have fully equipped dungeons. You might try calling them and suggesting your idea of such a gathering, trying to work out some kind of financial benefit for them if you can "rent out" their facilities.
