Quick success in the NFL/MLB/NBA???

The 'keys to a franchise' thread got me thinking.

Since people say they'd like to take control of the Lions and 'turn them around', here's my question:

How fast would you want to turn them around?

I mean, would you want to do like the Devil RAys and suck for years so you can stockpile your draft picks/prospects?

Or would you want to get a Peyton Manning, get mediocre fast, draft in the middle and then hope all goes well from there?

Personally, I'd want to suck for 2 years so I could get 2-3 top picks in the Peyton/LDT mold.

That way I'd be unstoppable... in theory.

yeah take the sucking as it comes stockpile first rounders on your team and hope it pans out.. the likely hood of being able to bring in a manning type qb or lt type running back is very unlikely
