Has anybody here used this program?

i read about it in the new issue of PC World its a stripped down alternative to Windows Media Player. just wondering if this program is worth trying out? and dumping and getting rid of windows media player on my parents Computer. it supports all formats from what i have seen and heard

ps. already posted this in the Technical Assistance section but i don't think it gets very much attention. so i'm posting it here

On nobody's advice, I downloaded and installed the thing earlier this evening.

My initial reaction is that it's very nice, but not perfect.

Understand that I'm running win'98 and need to "wipe" my disk about once every 90 days and reinstall all software due to the malware that creeps onto the machine. I have the classic case of "DL-Hell" lockups. It's been almost a year; maybe more, since my last wipe and reinstallation.

So, I was watching this app organize my files (and it does great) and then it (like all other media viewers on my machine) locked up my system and I had to reboot.

So I give it a good grade.

Oh, cool thanks P50

i have XP for windows. so it shouldn't be much of a problem! i'll see about downloading it tonight. 🙂

Hey, when you do your house cleaning with the wipe & reinstall, how do you save all the myriads of things that you don't wanna lose, like vid clips and saved games and so forth? Or do you just sacrifice everything on the hard drive for expediency? I'm still running 98 as well, and share your malware blues.
