When I heard Bob Wolff's broadcast of Don Larsen's perfect game in the 1956 World Series, I was six years old and he was a veteran radio sportscaster, having begun his career with CBS Radio in 1939. (I did not enjoy that broadcast since Larsen was pitching for the Yankees against the Dodgers.)
He died Saturday at his home at the age of 96. He holds the record for the longest career in sports broadcasting. Rest In Peace, Mr. Wolff.
