I started off liking real life tickling pictures, but then I discovered tickling deplicted in art form, like manga. I literally fell in love with it, and now I rarely enjoy any real life tickling pictures. I even watched a clip of a tickling video, and I actually enjoyed it less than the tickling scene in the animated Jane tickling scene in Disney's Tarzan.

To me, there is something in art that just can't be captured in real life. Your deepest fantasies and highest hopes can be created with a stroke of a pen.

I know most people here like real life photos, but I was wondering why, and was also wondering how many other people prefer tickling art to the real photos of tickling.

Please respond, with any pertainate thoughts.

I find it depends heavily on my mood. Sometimes I'm in the mood for real-life pics, and there are many I like very much (the cute ones with lots of laughing). Sometimes, though less often, I'm in the mood for video clips. Frequently, I'm more in the mood for artwork. It's perfectly true that some elements of fantasy can only be expressed in stories or artwork -- and those are the only places, after all, where you can see tickle monsters at work. Sometimes I like non-tickling pictures, where the girl just cries out to be tickled, and you can spin your own scenario. I keep images of all these kinds in separate folders on my hard drive, sorted by category.

So it depends. But I personally wouldn't want to exclude any of the above groups. As the Vulcans say, "Infinite diversity in infinite combinations."

Thanks

Thank you, my mentor. I was wondering about you. I was also wondering, if you have any more tickling monster pics. If you do, would you please post them somewhere, just in case you have something that I do not. Thanks.

Ditto

For me it's completely a mood thing, too.

If I'm in the mood for some realistic tickling, I obviously prefer rl, but I also really like artowrk, becuase it smashes down the boundaries of realism, letting whatever twisted fantasies you have come to life.

I tend to enjoy art more then images.

And I like storys over video.

I feel that It all has to do with level of abstraction. Stories and art allow a user to fill in more themselves, from their own personal fantasies. So they are more defined to ones own specific taste, and have more details that are 'just right'. The images and video leave less to be filled in, so they have less chance of fitting as well, and perhaps some things might need to be ignored activly.

I'm DEFINATLY a huge anime fan - not big headed enough to call myself an otaku, but others have refered to me as one ^^x; Personally, I usually prefer anime/art tickling to real-life photo's. My only explanation is that I'm a sucker for cute artwork.

Yes, yes, drawings and fiction.....

They're the best for me; because I have such a wild imagination, the videos and photos seem a bit mundane by comparison.
Even the simplest line drawing or little story can blossom into a delicious scenario in my mind.
Button 😛

It depends on what mood Im in, as well. Somedays I prefer r/l pics, some days I don't

Interesting. It's all true about tickling art living up to your fantasies. Not meaning to sound egocentric, but I'm blessed with artistic skills, and I can draw the images I want to happen in real life. You draw the reactions, situations, scenarios and positions you want. And by drawing your fantasies, you in turn can enterain others. Plus, you can have your favourite cartoon and video game characters, celebrities, real-life people, etc. getting tickled in your fantasies.

On the contrary, real life pics can inspire art too, so you can take a real life pic, and twist it round to the way you want it. I do that quite a lot. I still think real-life pics are great, as long as the lee is fine-looking, and the situation is far-fetched, yet pleasing. Oh, and a good amount of bondage, but that's my opinion.

Say, has anyone thought of fakes? Y'know, art and real-life photos combined?

For some reason, I don't usually like fakes. No idea why though, they just don't intrest me.

By the way Chimp, your post made me think about people who have writing skills instead of artistic skills. No-one mentioned stories yet, but they're exactly the same in my opinion, using words to depict your favorite fantasies.

I usually like drawings better, but more realistic ones. A few examples for artists I like: Zuni, TKL, Mandell, Tukano, and BAC. ChadPet is the only only comic-style artist I really enjoy very much. All a matter of personal taste, I guess.

I wish I were able to draw, my own attempts at it were awful. I'm much better with words, so I tried to express my most secret fantasies in stories. But liking good drawings so much, I even commissioned Zuni for 3 pictures as illustrations for my novels. Her exclusive masterpieces can be seen on my yahoo-group.

Personally, I prefer cute looking anime, such as Tenchi Muyo, Ranma ½, Urusei Yatsura etc. Big eyes, lots of colors and crazy expressions rule!

I definitely prefer art over real life. There's a much larger opportunity for imagination. You can really cusomize a drawing to suit your desires. I do prefer anime style art over more realistic styles of art. The anime way of drawing a laughing face is so much cuter than the more realistic version😀

Thanks

Thanks for posting on my topic. I am totally greatful.

@ Gripped Chimp. I, ofr some reason, don't like fakes. They just don't seem real, and take the magic out of it.

@ Battousai. It is kind of ironic that you mentioned stories. I, myself, am a tickling writer. You can read my stuff at my Yahoo site, marked below. (yes, you will have to cut and paste. I am too lazy to change it.)

I believe that the written word can take you far and beyond the imagination. While I have a deep passion for art, he who said "a picture is worth a thousand words," hasn't read enough books.

But please, continue posting your opinions. I love reading them.

Thanks again.

I was working on something to do with tickling stories lately. I tried to write a program that would work as an interactive story, writing the story first, then converting it to be displayed by the program and give the reader a choice of what happens. Esentially, its several stories in one because of this. However, I ran into a problem while coding the thing, and haven't been able to continue. I was going to modify the story so that I could just post it as a regular one, but I just haven't got around to it.

Oh Critterlord, I just realized you're the one who wrote "The Furry Friend". That was a truely excellent story - I really think I should share some of mine now..

I think Myriads mentioned stories earlier in this thread himself. Stories and art are similar, as they can be made up from anyone who excels in that area. Mind you, I wouldn't make a very good storywriter. I admit I don't have the attention span to write one!

Thats the reason I don't draw anymore. I get most of the picture done, then get distracted before getting around to cleaning it up >.>x

I tend to prefer art and stories, myself. I like a good tickling pic, but they usually represent things I can see in real-life, so it's redundant.

There are simply things you can do with art that you just can't do IRL. Some of the bondage devices I've created for my artwork just wouldn't work in reality...hell, some of them might even kill someone. 🙄

When I write, I try to go beyond anything I could ever get away with. It's a fantasy.

Art also tends to instill certain subconscious images that we enjoy. I love Chimp's work, mostly because of the "cuteness" factor. I love the way he draws his ladies, and he's a master at the "Oh Shit" look. (Those of you who enjoy art know what I'm talking about.) Ozzy is great for that as well. Characters like Yenny and Chimp's bevy of luscious girlfriends represent everything we like in ticklish playmates. The things we are attracted to are over-accentuated and hit us on a subconscious level.

Long Live Fantasy!

The "oh shit" look... heh heh, and I thought I was only having my girls say that verbally! Cheers Dave. True about your bondage positions in your art. That could rupture muscles, cut off circulation and snap some bones. But hey, fantasies rock...
