I've been ordering from Angel Food Ministries for several years, having been introduced to it by a co-worker when I was still among the external work force. I just made my monthly order from them and got enough food for both Glam's and for my own house to last us 2 or 3 weeks for only $129.

Given the economic crunch the majority of us are feeling right now, I realized that passing the information on may be an assist to some of us who may have never heard of them. (FYI: You don't have to be a member of any church or religious organization to make purchases from AFM, in case that might be worrisome to anybody.) I can verify this is not a scam of any sort due to long association with them and the food is really restaurant-grade good, includes meats and veggies, eggs, even shelf stable milk. (However, I don't recommend the "Senior/Convenience Box", which is an assortment of frozen dinners. We tried them and they were Stick to the regular boxes offered, I haven't run into anything bad at all in any of them.)

The website is www.angelfoodministries.com You can locate the closest host site for pick-up by your zip code and place orders online. They even accept food stamps. You have to go and pick up the food on the designated date and time, but it's usually in the evenings and quick. In my own experience, I'm in and out within 5 mins.--they even have guys to carry it to your car for you at my host site. 😀

Times are so tough right now and everyone needs to eat. If you know anyone who can use this information, please pass it along to them. There's also a referral program in place when orders are placed online using email addresses. I believe you get a free sig box after 10 people use you as a referral. (By all means, feel free to PM me for mine, if you'd like to use me your first time.)

I have bought many boxes from the AFM and have always been impressed with them, especially the steaks... The steaks are a downright blessing. One time a rack of overly tough ribs came but maybe i didn't cook them right either 😀 During either Christmas or Thanksgiving one year i was given a big box full of apples and oranges that last both me and my neighbor's family quite a while. I think what i really loved about the whole set up is that it didn't come with the shame a food pantry does. I could walk away with it feeling kinda proud i was able to pay for all this food.
