Reasons to buy Espn NBA 2k5

I'm going to be buying a video game tommorw for my xbox and leaning towards espn 2k5. But why is the game good this year? and what are some reasons to buy it?

LOL, hey man. I would say it is easily worth buying. Now, I have never played LIVE, but the thing I love about this game is the level of detail you have over your franchise, the way you can customize your plays, the graphics are the best on the market, gameplay is silky smooth. From what I have heard about LIVE, people say it's more arcade-like rather than a true simulation of the sport. ESPN is basketball, pure and simple. Pure simulation.


My fav thing about it though, is the amount of aweseom competition on XBOX LIVE, ima lways ont here playing against others, it's really addicting. I say get it, its only 20 bucks so even if by some chance you don't like it (which you would be crazy not to 😉 ) it wouldn't be a huge loss or anything.

I have had it since it came out...definitely a good pick up. The 24/7 mode sucks though...dont bother messing with that.

Is the Franchise mode pretty deep?

Are the all the NBA teams up to date with the current rosters and players?

Not anymore...that flurry of trades (Webber to the 76'ers stands out) makes some teams look horribly outdated even though they arent.

Thanks dajerx. Thats no big deal that the rosters aren't 100% right (because after it's a video game players get traded and dealt to different teams before they can make changes sometimes) to the game. So oh well i will still proble end up buying this today for the price of $20 Dollars........ it looks great from what i have seen of it online.

actually, if you have xbox live, you can download a roster update, so yea, the rosters are updated.

yea, you have an awesome level of control over your franchise.

Yeah you guys lost a heart breaker!

But the rockets should win the next two games (i don't see the Mavs coming back any more to win the series)

Thier not going to the rockets have to much depth and talent on thier team to let that happen.
