Reasons why there are so few nudie tcikle vids?

Today I was talking to a German TV journalist who wants to prepare a brief report on tickling when she brought up an interesting question:

I had sent her a few clips from tickle vids, and there wasn't a single nudie scene in them. She understands that tickling has some sexually arousing influence on guys, and she wondered why the female ticklees weren't even naked. To her, it seemed logical to show predominantly sexual or nude scenes, and she was very astonished to see that this is not true.

Now, vid producers or other people with good ideas, why are there so few nude tickle vids, although tickling is sexual to most of us? I have my own ideas about this, but I need more logical arguments and would be interested in your ideas.

Well, I think one of the main reasons is censorship. In north america particularily, media producers tend to automatically ban anything with nudity. In order to circumnavigate these barriers, many tickling producers create 'PG' tickling, so as to only exhibit the tickling aspect, and leave the rest to the imagination. This allows for a more widespread audiance, without having to ask for credit card numbers to certify the viewers age.

I doubt censorship is the issue

I can think of 2 good reasons that nudity is not as predominant as one would think:
1) A model willing to be tickled may not want to be naked. I figure most of them don't see tickling as anything sexual, but the minute they have to get naked, that rings some alarm bells. So producers might find a girl willing to be tickled for money that would not otherwise do anything related to the fetish biz, since they don't link the tickling with sex (and as those other vids prove, one does not need to be naked to be tickled), and
2) presuming the model is indifferent to being clothed or unclothed (which I think is the biggest factor and is why that point is #1), it almost certainly cost the producers more to have them naked, so if the choice is naked and tickling or just tickling when the vid is being produced for a tickling audience, there's no huge incentive to pay the extra $$$ to get them naked. And even though the nudity may sell more vids, based on other posts about vid sales, I'm not sure how much of a boost it would be.

You should reply to this journalist and offer her some of the more recent material that's been offered to the community at large. It seems all the video producers are doing these days is vibrator and/or nudie videos. There's also tons of images out there, whether vidcap or not. I think your journalist friend just arrived at the wrong conclusion based on the samples you sent her; they aren't indicative of the variety of content as a whole.

nudity not necessary?

Perhaps nudity isn't necessary to capture the excitement of tickling on video. I mean, most of the comments I see regarding the women in these videos have little to do with her wardrobe or lack thereof. Most are interested in the level of ticklishness and to what degree it was taken advantage of. For me, a tickling scene is more exciting if it looks natural and believable. When models tickle each other nude, it lacks a certain realism and spontaneity. In my opinion, the best tickle scenes are those in which punishment is more of the theme than sex. Although I do find nudity is good for increasing vulnerability or for adding humiliation to the tickle torture.

Having an easier time finding willing models and not having to pay them extra for nudity are certainly good reasons not to have nudity in tickling videos. But another reason is that, while it's true that most ticklephiles do see tickling as something sexual in nature, many see tickling and standard sex/nudity as two seperate things (though both erotic in nature), and actually prefer to see tickling without nudity. One can like the more down to earth, natural aspect of clothed tickling because it's something that's more likely to happen in everyday life, so it's easier to identify with the situation. It's closer to home. Such a person may like more standard adult videos or not. Some like to combine nudity, even actual pornographic content, along with the tickling. But others, who still like nudity like anybody else, feel that there's so much material with nudity out there that they'll get that material if they want nudity, but for tickling they prefer to keep it simple so as to concentrate on the tickling.

Personally, I have little or no interest in porn or even milder forms of nude materials, although that definitely doesn't mean I would mind being in the company of a nude lady that I happened to like (assuming the feeling were mutual). But when it comes to tickling, I'm more than happy with cute girl next door ticklees in their everyday clothes. To me, nudity would only get in the way and change the mood of the scene in a way I don't like. That's why my videos are basically G-Rated (though still not for sale to minors), and they're meant for people who prefer the down to earth approach, or at least that don't dislike it. I wouldn't be comfortable making videos with a more adult content, and I'm pretty sure I'd have next to no luck finding willing nude models around here even if I wanted to hire them.

I can only answer for myself, but for me, tickling ISN'T sexual (which should be obvious to anyone who's read my stories). Sex and tickling CAN merge, but don't inherently as far as I'm concerned... and I only want them to with a real partner in a private situation. For me, openly sexual elements ruin tickling in videos, pictures, cartoons or stories. I personally dislike the recent videos emphasizing orgasm. For me, that has no place in tickling.

I don't really know how widespread my attitude is -- but I noticed that in polls here, many people said they didn't want porn and tickling mixed. (Yes, I know some people feel tickling material is porn -- but as I've indicated, I don't.)

Perhaps non-nude videos are thus able to target a wider audience. Those who want sexuality can imagine, and those who don't won't have it thrown in their faces.

I disagree that there is a shortage of nudie tickle videos. For the last year or so every new video has had some nudity in it. TC, CalStar, Femfeet, SilverCherry, TickleHell, and now even MTP have put out nude and even ponographic videos. Just because clothed tickling exists does not mean it dominates the tickling community. Personally I like my tickle videos R rated but not X rated.
