Record of Lodoss War Update!

I'm going to try things a little differently this time. I'm going to post the main thread in this forum as opposed to the anime media one, and put the link to this thread in the anime media one instead and see if it makes a difference. Anyways...


Theres a new Lodoss War picture. 🙂


Update 5/19/03-

- Added one picture of Deedlit to the Files section.


IMPORTANT NOTE: Either because of a Yahoo! problem or the recent
virus that was sent to my group, I cannot upload pictures to the
photos section. It says the file name is invalid when in fact its
not and I've never had this problem before. If the problem goes away
or I find a solution, then I'll also add this picture and future
pictures to their respective albums. But for now, these pictures will
be uploaded only to the files section.

Well, thats it, short and sweet. This is only my second time drawing
Deedlit, and I wanted to draw her wearing her armor and cape
as she sits, daydreaming and thinking of Parn, her Free Knight. 🙂

Should? You must! It is definitely one of the best anime series out there for art, originality, music, plot, and theme. Be sure to watch the OVA/OAV (Original Video Animation) first, and then watch Chronicles Of The Heroic Knight (TV Series). In order to get the most out of it, its best if watched in order, although its not manditory. There is also a spin-off series after Lodoss called Legend of Crystania. I haven't watched it yet, but it sounds good.

I shall take your word for it. Perhaps Amazon will have one of their "Buy one with another cheaper" deals involving it. Time to dig into the old pocketbook. (If it hasn't been drained already.)😀

Actually, its more afforable and a sure thing if you just go ahead and buy the DVD Box Sets. Its cheaper than buying a series volume for volume, and you get a neat collectors box to store them in.

Record of Lodoss War OVA and usually be found for the good price of $39-50 depending on where you shop, and the TV series runs at about $90-130 also depending on where you shop. Considering how great the series is, at least in my opinion, its well worth the money.

I would suggest you check out Robert's Anime Corner Store. I do all my online shopping for my anime and anime merchandize needs at this place. I swear by this place, and I've spoken to the owner/president on several occasions. He and his site are legit. and hes a nice man and he has simply the best prices, the best selection, the best deals and bargains, the best shipping and payment methods, and the best customer service I've ever seen. You should definitely give this store a chance.

You're welcome. I would easily give Record of Lodoss War a 9 out of 10. The reason its not a full 10 is because I felt some things were lacking in the tv series. The OVA/OAV however was completely excellent and dare I say perfect in almost every way. I have this series myself.

A warning though. If you don't like the fantasy/adventure genre, then you probably won't like this series. See, it was created after the original novels and after the RPG game, so it has quite the fantasy influence, much akin to Dungeons & Dragons. Except the great difference is this is animation and not a game, so it can be enjoyed on several levels.

Thank you. I'm rather proud of this one for several reasons. Mainly the detail in her face and armor.

Thank you. Yeah, I mentioned the detail because I feel I put much more into it than last time. Although last time, with the first picture, she was just wearing her skirt without her armor. By means of facial expression and detail, I'd say its better than the first though. And yes, the overall composition is better than the first.


As far as the tickling, yeah. See, Deedlit is one of those pure, innocent characters that just shouldn't be put in a leud or extreme tickling situation unless its totally necessary or better suited that way. When the time comes for me to draw more of Lady Neese (a priestess from this series) I don't know how I'm going to approach the tickling bit. I'll have to be careful with that. Not that I face punishment. It will just make me feel weird about it in a bad way if I feel I go too far, which I haven't to date.

The reason you can't view the picture from my group is because you have in fact been banned. Thats no mistake or server problem. The fact of the matter is, you'll stay that way until you can make up to me what you did. And the only way to do that is to remove that defaming, inacurate comic strip you made of you and I from your group. Its on the last page in your sketchbook. I would also like you to change what you said for the Chun-Li/Cammy picture, since that is also inacurate. Theres no need to mention Capcom since everyone knows they created the characters. Second, and more importantly, you could stand to change what you said about me a bit better. I've already told you several times something as simple as " Idea by Damien" would be fine. But you have yet to do this. The way you've worded it insinuates several things, like that I own the pose, which I don't for example, but it was my idea since no such a picture exists elsewhere (that I know of), and I'd like for that to be dealt with ASAP. If it you refuse to do these two very simple things and continue to ignore them in spite, then you'll simply remained banned until you do. I don't feel anyone who would do such things should have access to my material. Its just common sense. Its like opening your door to robbers and telling them "take whatever you want". I've tried several times to be friends with you, but its something you just won't have, and you use what happened as an excuse when it is I who would have the right to ignore you, which I don't, by the way. In any event, the next move is up to you.

And the picture does show up here. Sometimes it doesn't, but at least for me and everyone else so far (that I know of), it has shown up. So it might just be that when you looked at it it wasn't showing up, or it could be because you are restricted access to it.

As far as links not working, thats not true. They work almost all the time, and just crap out from time to time. If this wasn't true, my pictures wouldn't have been showing up ever since I started posting them a while back when I got here. Its totally random when a server wants to be a pain.

Yes it did. And its working for me right now. It will show up depending on Yahoo!. For those that still can't see it, they can just check back later or go to my group and see it. Theres really no point in posting the link, since the same thing will happen. I'm only posting these as s for the convienience of the TMF members.

It has been so far, so there shouldn't be a problem. But people are impatient and want things right now, which is fine, and I would give it to them right now (which I have), but they have to understand the server issue when posting pictures elsewhere other than a yahoo group is beyond my control.

And thanks for trying, but next time please ask before you do that. And you might as well delete it, that one isn't showing up, and the first one still is. But then again, maybe the server loves me and just hates you all. 😛 LOL

Oh, I almost forgot HDS, Record of Lodoss War OVA/OAV is available in a new Special Edition version. The difference is added bonus material, and better sound and picture quality. No need to worry, the price is the same and didn't go up because of this.

They (the anime business/sound studios) tend to do this with good animes. For example, Slayers was re-mastered so the sound quality would be much better, and there would be new stereo options.
