I've lived in the DC area most of my life. We Washingtonians have a long standing rivalry with the Dallas Cowboys. And sad to say, the Redskins' victories against the Cowboys over the years have been all too few and far between.

But yesterday was one of those rare times. Both teams played well, but the Redskins took the game at Dallas!

It just doesn't get sweeter.

Congrats on your team's win, drew. I saw that game and it was definitely a great one. I was one of the few who said the +11 points the Redskins were getting was way too much. But to beat the Cowgirls outright speaks volumes that Washington is a VERY underrated team.

After the Skins' bad showing in week 1, I was skeptical, but having now seen their O without the Joe Gibbs handcuffs win 3 legit games in a row, I think they can compete with the big boys.

Dallas is/was arguably the best team in the league and Wa. fended them off pretty handily on the road. So yes, I'm impressed.

Considering that 3 of their next 5 games are against 'cupcakes' (Rams, @ Lions, Browns) I think they can make a push for their division crown and/or the playoffs. Espescially if Campbell continues to develope into a smart and efficient QB.

Glad I picked them to cover. Great win for them.

(But the Steelers will still beat them this year!)

I tell ya, there's nothing sweeter as a Redskin fan to see our team go down to Big D, and come away with one of these. Campbell is maturing so well in this new offense, the secondary, specifically Springs, deserves some DAP for shutting down Owens, and the D-Line minus J. Taylor, kept that running attack of theirs in check.

And this win does two things, first, it shows that top to bottom, the NFC East is the best division in football, bar none. Second, This shows that the Redskins can definitely be a contender in this murderer's row of a division, especially if they can go to Philly next week and take care of the Eagles.

Another shocker. I thought not having Taylor would give the Boys an extra 25-50 yds and maybe even a score...

Didn't happen.

You are correct. After that tough game they play 3 lightweights: Rams, Lions, Browns.

If they keep focused they could easily be 7-1 after 8 games. Even 6-2 seems realistic.

It can get sweeter, trust me. I think the outcomes of the past few seasons for the 'Boys has changed the way I look at games. We've had big wins and losses since we've returned to contending status and I've learned not to let the outcome effect my mood or expectations too drastically. The only thing that matters for this team is being in Tampa in February. I still expect the Cowboys to win the Super Bowl. It doesn't get any bigger than that.

They ran the ball 31 times in Cleveland, then 24 against the Eagles before 35 totes last week. And they get to the rough-and-tough division game with the Redskins and they run 11 times, three of which came from Terrell Owens and Tony Romo. Wow. That's really "in check". 11 times eh? And three of those from a WR and QB? Wow. Massive D-line there. Or should we question just why Marion Barber gets only eight carries in the game? Or better yet, why in the world did Felix Jones not get a carry or a pass thrown his way?

If the Redskins other opponents abandon the successful game plans that got them wins (just like the Cowboys did this game) - hey who knows - crank up the Super Bowl train baby!!

NFL Trivia: When was the last time Dallas actually won a playoff game? Maybe coaching and management decisions like this helps explain why.

Wow, bitter. Even in the few carries he had Barber only averaged a little more than 3 yards a carry. While I'll agree with you that Dallas should have ran it more, you can't look back, you can only look forward.

And for the record, I'm not a bandwagon Redskins fan, as so many Cowboys fans seem to be, I'm lifelong, but objective, and I've seen teams get on the right track early and the momentum keeps going all year.

Not bitter at all. Just truthful. It wasn't a personal attack and I apologize if it came across that way. In my opinion, this win had little to do with the Redskins D-line and more about Dallas trying to fix something that works.

And for the record, I am not a Cowboys fan or a Redskins fan - and I strongly dislike "bandwagon" jumpers.

Only to those who have no idea what they're talking about.

You are absolutely right it doesn't get any bigger than to win the Super Bowl. But were't you suppose to be the Giants in January 2008??? That was going to be the springboard game to put you up against New England. But you were favored by 11 points at home against Washington. Aren't you suppose to win the game??? I thought that the spread was too much. And I stated so. And as far as Tampa Bay in February is concerned, don't have Jerry Jones giving guys Super Bowl tickets and even though I think very highly of Tony Romo ( ask Flock of Seagulls and Natural Tickler ) don't you think he should win a playoff game BEFORE you put his team in the Super Bowl???

P.S. I am NOT trying to piss anyone off. I am just stating the obvious.

That's my point. They were supposed to win because they played so well during the regular season and it didn't mean a thing once they lost to the Giants. Every Super Bowl winner loses and sometimes they've lost games they should've won. It's just time to prove something in January.

The Boys do have alot to prove in January. I think they will this time.
