i know, i know...reeeeeally stupid question (im probably the only one who doesn't know this) but what are the membership levels? i mean....i know what they are, like regular, registered member, red feather, ect....but what do they mean? is there a post that explains them all? im just curious- thanks!

Something like posting levels. For so many posts, you can get a feather color.

But for X # of posts you go up a level...originally designed to let everyone know how long you've been around, but all that changed when many got too carried away posting 20-50 nonsense posts per day just to see what the next level was...some of our long time members have far fewer posts than some of the newest...

BigJim 9.5 per day he's cruising

Ven 7.4 per day excluding official duties.. that's cool

S.I. 7.4 per day.. reasonable

Mils 20.9 per day.. no discernable life outside the TMF

Lime 17.2 per day.. has potential for an outside life

Rajee 6.4 per day.. doin ok

HDS 43.3 per day ..no discernable life anywhere.. hopeless

N.T 48.9 per day .. no comment necessary

perv 3.2 per day .. cool

well, they just mean.....nothing. They're useless and that's all you need to know about them.
You have to believe this because I know what I'm talking about. I'm an EXPERT - look at my membership level.......

Since nobody seems to have answered your original question in detail:

50 posts--TMF Novice
150--TMF Regular
300--TMF Expert
600--TMF Master (although I have always contended that it should be TMF Mistress for women members)

1,000--first level Red Feather
1,250--second level Red Feather
1,500--third level Red Feather
1,750--fourth level Red Feather

The four-levels-per-thousand with a different color continues on upward until 9,750 for fourth level White Feather, with the colors as follows:

1,000--Red Feather
2,000--Orange Feather
3,000--Yellow Feather
4,000--Green Feather
5,000--Blue Feather
6,000--Indigo Feather
7,000--Violet Feather
8,000--Black Feather
9,000--White Feather

These levels have been reached so far at 10,000 and above (where the "first, second, third, fourth" are no longer used):

10,000 Level of Cherry Feather
11,000 Level of Tangerine Feather
12,000 Level of Lemon Feather
13,000 Level of Lime Feather
14,000 Level of Blueberry Feather
15,000 Level of Raspberry Feather

Mils had a regular posting average and a not very huge number of posts until recently. then a few months ago he suddenly started posting in the region of three or four hundred a day. the man who once called me sad for posting in all the Polls threads in the same day, now eclipses me completely. 😉

In case you were wondering why that change happened, Jim, the answer is very simple. I bought a computer for my home, and signed up for net access via a high speed cable modem. 😀

I don't deny that I made about 400 posts on one particular day in early January, anxious to get up to 12,000. But I have not been averaging anything close to 300 per day.

I reached 12,000 posts on January 4 (the same day that HDS did, actually). I now have 17,138, and today is February 13. So I have made 5,138 posts in the last 40 days, for an average of 128.45 posts per day since then.
