26 years ago today, the world lost one of its greatest voices. Please remember John Lennon today.

"Imagine"
Words and music by John Lennon

Imagine there's no Heaven
It's easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people
Living for today

Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace

You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will be as one

Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world

You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will live as one

Thank you Frankie..i will always remember John..my favorite Beatle..and i have that picture from last year, i printed it out when you posted it on my thread about John's birthday..

Imagine John alive today....

Lennon overall was my favorite too. But overall in the context of the Beatles he balanced off well with Paul McArtney. I think some of his best musical moments was the 1966 Revolver album songs like "And Your Bird Can Sing"," Dr Roberts", "She Said She Said" with its differing time signatures were truly hallmark moments for Lennon as well as the other 3 Beatles. As theywere about to embark on their pop music masterpiece "Sgt Peppers Lonely Heartclubs Band".

Lennon was my favorite Beatle as well. It was a shame what happened to him.

I think John Lennon was a legend. His Christmas song-So This is Christmas is one of my favourite Christmas songs.Don't get many music artists like him these days.

My God...can you imagine if he were around today, and he had this war and this Administration to spout off about?

He would've stepped up and faced the demonization that would've ensued with a bottomless well of scouseness that might've been a lot of fun to watch. John Lennon was John Lennon, and everyone else is full of shit.

He would've been 66. He would've grown old with us. Such a senseless, painful tragedy.

My god!

I can't believe it's been over a quarter century. Lennon was one of a kind and that was a good thing. I'm sure I am not the only one who feels like this but "we wuz robbed". Music artists today aren't even a pimple on his ass.
