Three years ago tomorrow over 3,000 innocent people lost their lives to the senseless act of terrorists.

Whether we are for the war or against the war...in favor of Bush/Kerry, against Bush/Kerry...right winged/left winged/somewhere in the middle, it's all inconsequential as we look back on the tragedy that took place on Sept. 11th, 2001. In the face of terrorism, we are ONE NATION, united in the fight for our freedom and safety.

Tomorrow, for just one day, lets put our political differences aside and remember what unites us together. Lets all pause and remember the many innocent victims, and the many heroes in form of volunteers, police officers, firefighters, and strong willed americans who fell from grace on that one violent and fateful morning 3 years ago. God bless them all.

I will be remembering. Very well put and the way it should be, we should all remember those who have lost lives and all who have sacrificed on that day and since then to protect our freedom.

Lets also remember............

....the 67 Brits who also died in 9/11.

just simply amazes me everytime i see that..i remember how pumped i was that friday nite after 9-11, my senior year of football, they played national anthem and they had transport planes heading south to mansfield where they are based..i was so damn pumped up for that! adrenile was high, and we had veterans there watching the game. i remember seeing the flag waving on high b4 being lowered to half staff..first play for us and we went nuts on that team! 😀 We were so proud of this country, even tho we were attacked, i think it made us stronger as a group, as the football "Band of Brothers"! I remember a year later..being given the honor to draw a poster for 9/11 for my store..it was a true honor..i spent hours on it. got so many compliments on it. it was a matter of pride and honor to those who died that dreadful day! USA! USA! USA! USA!

Excellent post, Mimi. 😀

Hard to believe it was three years ago, I remember the horror here in Manhattan as if it were last week.

Amen to that Mimi, good thoughts. I dont recall if I told people on here that my aunt and cousin lived in lower Manhattan at that time. My aunt was in her apartment when the first plane hit the first tower. She took the elevator down to the street, and was standing on the street when the 2nd plane hit the 2nd tower, and she saw tower 2 fall right from the street below. After that. her and my cousin had to come to Lancaster for a week because it was so unsafe there. When they finally went home, they moved out of the neighborhood because they felt it was unhealthy with all the debris from the WTC. They now live in another part of Manhattan. I dont think any of us will ever forget that morning or where we were. A few minutes after we were attacked, my father even behaved humanly to me for one brief moment, as he was in another part of the city and called me from his cell to tell me he loved me. I remember feeling stunned and mesmerized. To the 3,000 plus innocent souls who lost their lives on that fateful day, my prayers are with them and their families on this somber anniversary. We will never forget, and those who perished on that horrible Tuesday morning will never be forgotten.

Buggs, I couldnt agree more with what you said. Good Post. As I think I've stated on here, I used to live in the New York area for many years before moving here. I had been to the WTC many times, and to the observation deck at the top, as well as to the world famous resturant that used to be there, Windows on the World. My first visit back to New York after 9-11-01 was in June, 2002. I always took the train up there, and the first sight you used to see when you approached New York were the Twin Towers. They were so awesome and beautiful. I remember how strange it was as we were reaching New York to look out and not see the Twin Towers there, and how strange it even felt being back in New York after that horrible day. As I was walking around Manhattan that day, having returned to where the tradegy occurred, and from listening to my relatives description of how New York City was on that day after the two planes took the Twins down with over 3,000 souls perishing with them, the people I know who live in New York and were there that day said people were walking in the streets with mummified looks on their faces, seemingly trying to absorb the tradegy that had befallen our nation. I think we all knew after that day that neither any of us, nor our country, would ever be the same again.

Very cool thread

Having grew up by NYC and see the WTC being built that day was most devestating. To remember such a day is the way it should be. Furthermore, I grew up with a couple of those 3,000 people that perished. I am getting misty eyed just posting this so I better stop!!

i wish id of gotten the chance to witness the beauty of the towers. ive never seen NYC. i think i may need to one day.

what an amazing site i seen today! My sister who is a frosh in High School had a Tennis Invite today out west about an hour and 45 mins from Cleveland..well this younger girl, from the hosting school, is brought out before us. She sings the national anthem in rememberance of 9/11.. well as she is singing it..two chinook helicopters fly over..as she ends it..we hear a roar and over the tree lines comes..two f-16s!! they hit the afterburners..completely blow past the stadium as a rush of air comes whipping through..they had to be only 500 feet from the tree lines...then they let it all loose! you see the flames from the afterburners go red hot and glow in the beautiful blue sky with no clouds today! all we hear next is a ground shaking BOOOOOOM!!! talkin about adreniline flowing like no other!! i was off the ground, soo pumped up! i couldnt beleive they brought them over head! now if i only had my video camera rolling, just and awesome site of the flying side by side! cutting through the sky..i was completely blown away! my adreniline is still going..some 12 hours later! GOD BLESS AMERICA..9/11 Never Forget!!

9/11 is a tragic reminder that the world is divided not based upon race, color, gender, sexual orientation, or religion. Rather it is divided based upon those of us who are good and those of us who are evil. Good must prevail for our freedoms and our very lives are at stake.

We Shall Never Forget.

I wrote this shortly after 9/11. Enjoy and Ponder.
My heart grieves for those who lost family members on that day.

The Awakening

You have finally figured out
What I knew all along
This country must get back to
What we were founded on.

This country was not founded
On prejudice and hate
We must trust the master
It is He who holds our fate.

Everything that happens
In our world today
Has its own purpose
When we do things His way.

As Christians, we have backslid
Into selfishness and greed
Even though the signs were there
His warning we did not heed.

Now that we are grieving
And reflecting on what went wrong
We reach out to our Father
Who was there for us all along!
