A Republican and a Democrat were walking down the street when they came to a homeless person.

The Republican gave the homeless person his business card and told him to come to his business for a job. He then took twenty dollars out of his pocket and gave it to the homeless person.

The Democrat was very impressed, and when they came to another homeless person, he decided to help. He walked over to the homeless person and gave him directions to the welfare office. He then reached into the Republican's pocket and got out twenty dollars. He kept $15 for administrative fees and gave the homeless person five.

two Republicans are walking down the street with two democrats. Each is accompanied by their two children, total 8 kids.

They come to a homeless man, and one Rebublican decides to help. He borrows 10 dollars from each of the 8 kids, then turns to his fellow Republican and said; "here's your tax cut", and hands him 40 dollars, then announces "the rest is my corporate subsidy" and puts the rest in his own pocket.

The second Republican then tells the homeless person he can now afford to hire another worker, and asks what are his qualifications? The homeless person tells his qualifications and is told he is unemployable. The Republicans then tell the Democrats that this man is a case for the welfare program.

The Democrats declare a tax increase and collect 8 dollars from each Republican. As they only have half as much money as the Republicans they each cough up 4 dollars. The Democrats then divide the 24 dollars they raised into two equal parts. One Democrat pockets the first half, stating;"This is a raise for government employees in unions" the second Democrat pockets the other half , announcing "This is to be used for aid to foreign countries that hate us".

They then tell the homeless man; "Sorry, the welfare program can't be funded this year because all the available government revenue has been used for more important purposes."

The whole group goes on down the street, leaving the unhelped homeless person scratching his head.

The moral is; Democrats tax and spend, Republicans borrow and spend, and the people who need help the most get nothing, because they have the least power.

At least it's more honest to try to pay for your extravagance on the spot than to put it off for the next generation to pay for!
