This is tragic. I was never a Toronto Blue Jays or Philadelphia Phillies fan. But I am saddened by this. Rest in Peace Roy Halladay. My condolences to his family.

One of the great pitchers of our time, greater still when the stakes were high, and that rare pitcher who would pitch complete games. Could be wrong but I think one year Halladay individually had more complete games than the rest of the league!

Someone suggested that they should waive the five year rule and induct Halliday into the Hall next year.

In Halliday's case, he last pitched in 2013, so it's likely he would have been eligible for induction next year.

Hopefully he will get in.

Halliday was an excellent pitcher.

One of the most dominant pitchers ive ever seen. A true master of his craft. And a tremendous competitor on the mound. RIP Doc.

In 2010 I got to see him pitch against the Braves at CPB in Philly. While I blame him for ruining my experience via his outstanding performance, I've always considered him to be one of the best of a generation (and a cool guy from what I've heard.)
