What an interesting thread. Well I have some money and can testify that it's way overrated. I enthusiastically recommend to everyone a PBS video I watched recently, called "Affluenza." To the more academically-minded, David Shi's book "The Simple Life" is worthwhile reading.

Building a business distracts them from doing the stuff that's FUN.

You'e a thinker, Strelnikov, and your posts are a pleasure to read. The above, however, hasn't been the case with me. I started out doing something fun ... and it turned, unintentionally, into a business.

Humm, I'm not really going to argue with that, but i think some just think that they are too good for others. Currently I am studing to become a engineer in college, however i never think high of myself and never will, I will be one of the few that don't forget where they came from. Hummm maybe a Robin Hood of sorts. Money is good but you should not think highly of yourselves. For my first internship, I had this boss that only thought of getting more money for his start-up company and never even attempted to become the least bit friendly. I guess what I'm trying to say is that money isn't everything. oh yeah, i have always wanted to visit england and hope to during Spring Break, I think england is the second best country in the world next to the U.S.A.. U.S.A. is the best!!!!

Hmm...

Guess I've learned my lesson, rich people DON'T suck after all. It just would be nice to be not poor. And as for luck, let me tell you...there is something to be said for preperation and opportunity, but there is still that indefinable luck about the world...I speak as one who has made little preparation and has never planned more than 24 hours in advance. 🙂 In fact, you can spit in opportunities face and despite your best efforts nab it, purely through luck. Let me tell you, I have (to my shame) never really earned anything with my life, but here I sit doing reasonably well. But then I'm Irish...maybe it's different for me. 🙂
