RP while in a relationship

I've met a girl that I've really "clicked" with. And yes, she's a tickling enthusiast as well. The problem is, she lives in a different country, so a relationship is off the table. Both of us have expressed a mutual attraction, however.

Now, compared to my previous relationship, my friend is very open-minded. She's even ok with

, which for most couples is off-limits. But both her and my previous partner are not ok with the idea of RP. Their reasoning is, even if it's not physical, you're still being intimate with another person. And besides, why would you need to RP with a complete stranger if you have a partner that shares your kink?

If a relationship ever were to develop between us, then I will respect her boundaries and stop RPing. But I've known many people who still RP even while in committed, monogamous relationships, and I've even RP'd with several of them myself. So, those of you who RP and have partners, I'm a little bit curious: do they not see it as cheating? If so, why not?

I am okay with my wife doing RP. She likes it in moderation and it charges up her interest in tickling, if anything. It's not fully satisfying for her and acts as more of a tease. It's also a great way to explore ideas and creativity within the kink spaces she's interested in (mainly tickling). We have some boundaries in those kinds of activities, but most of our boundaries are much more for in-person play. She discovers more about herself through RP and brings that into our play. We both consume various types of tickling content, to include some videos, audio, stories, etc. What makes all of these activities okay in our relationship is that we both feel comfortable enough with the other doing them, support each other in it, and those things don't compromise our behavior with, or expectations of each other. Occasionally these kinds of things can grab ahold of you like an addiction. Sometimes we dial it back and dedicate more time specifically to deepening our connection with each other.

But this is just us. If you are considering a relationship with someone that doesn't, or even possibly won't like the idea of you engaging in RP or similar activities, you need to decide if you are okay sacrificing your interest in the activities, or pursue a relationship in which your non-negotiables are okay to the other person. Just remember that every relationship requires some level of sacrifice and compromise. You just need to decide what is important to you, and how important it is.
