Sebastian Deisler has announced his retirement from professional football...due much to do with having six major operations on his right knee in the last eight years.

This is a tremendous lost to FC Bayern Munich and has dealt a major blow to Germany's run at the up-coming European championships...

This of course has more pressing issues then sport - a mans way of life has ended; throw into the light he has has dealt with severe depression in the past due to his injury battles...so for that I wish him all the best and my prayers are with him.

I had the privilege of meeting him back into '04 at an Amsterdam airport were he took to time for a photo opportunity and of course a nice talk (throw in with a few tips)...what he went through and over came is very similar to what I went through, I looked up to him and with that I managed to get through my demons both physical and inner.....

...and with that I wish him all the best in what ever he decides to do with his future.

It is a sad day for all football fans everywhere, Deisler was a fantastic player, I remember him coming through the ranks at Dortmund I think.

I am a big fan of the Bundesliga, Its the strongest league in Europe at the moment, My favourite team from Germany would have to be Borussia Dortmund!
