Scientology...........

Great site, made to address the present generation of teens.

The German Supreme Court ruled several years ago that Scientology is not a religion but a commercial organization. They stripped them of all privileges for religions, like tax exempts etc. Promptly they rounded up some American senators to cry "foul! Germany opresses religion!"

I had helped to free my neighbor's daughter from the fangs of Scientology, and I often cried of frustration. Their methods make the Russian mafia look like boyscouts...

I'll say this, Scientology is nonsense. I'm all for people finding a religion that suits them and gives them fulfillment, but Scientology is a bunch of BS! I can't believe people like Tom Cruise could fall for a cult like this.

WOW! Great site Ice! Good to see that not all are taken in like Cruise and his cronies....

Interesting that they use snake symbology. :shake:

Some of it sounds like stuff I believe, but they lose me when it comes down to "only we know the true way" which is of course, total bollocks.

Great site - and I hope they succeed in getting at least some people their money back.
The problem is that, once you are in, it is not easy to get out. That whole practise of becoming clear, that is, of telling all of your most intimate secrets, including things relating to your, often confidential, work connections, gives them a powerful hold on anyone who has participated with any dedication.

Highly likely some of the Senators who slated the German government were themselves involved, or people of influence who had even more to hide. Quite a vicious rganisation.

Holy thetan! That's an interesting site. Here's interesting story- a few years ago, my boyfriend at the time was working in a bookstore and told me that all of a sudden, an enormous stock of a book was being bought off before it could get to the shelves. It was written by L Ron Hubbard's son, and it was denouncing him. The Scientologists couldn't get the book banned, (and he was threatened so severely that he lived in some secret location), so they were buying every copy that was printed!

Anyone needing to find a way to get rich quick.... write a Scientology exposè, and if you find a publisher that will risk it, you will have an immediate sell out.

Back to the book... the son told ALL, about the weird things of Scientology, his Dad, the whole offshore thing being to get this currency out of legal jurisdiction, and of course, the things that happen to people not when they join, but when they decide to LEAVE.

They are indeed a strange lot...

Buggs how the hell can you be a scientologist and a Bush fan??? They're not exactly on the same side.......

"Do whatever you have to to never have a heart attack around Tom Cruise, cause he would just use his medical expertise to put some duct tape on your chest and give you some gumdrops. And then he would convince you that the defibrillator and paramedics who later saved your life really didn't save your life. Just like people who improve on meds like Stratera and Ritalin haven't really improved on meds like Stratera and Ritalin."

"If vitamins and exercise alone explain why Tom Cruise is so, um, knowledgeable and well-grounded, pass the Prozac."
- Chicago Tribune

LOL. Man that was GREAT.

By all mean tom, continue! It's top notch comedy!

Dearest Buggs:

I believe that we live in a country where freedom of religion should be protected. I believe that if you desire Scientology, by all means, have at it and follow your heart.

Having said that, I am in complete disagreement with the stance against Psychiatric help or drug therapy. Let me explain why....

I was one of those people Mr Cruise talked about when he opened his big mouth about Brooke Shields. I was one of the people who suffered from post-partum depression. It was in the late 1980s when it was just hitting the media and women were being jailed in droves for hurting or killing their babies. I was hallucinating about killing my child. The dreams were so vivid, that I would go check on my child and eventually would make my mother come over after working all night long. I was afraid to be alone with my own child because I couldn't control it. This went on for two years!

It amazes me when a man has a comment about something he has and will never experience in his life. Tom Cruise will NEVER have a baby, NEVER experience post-partum depression. Hell, the man won't even have a menstrual period or a pregnancy. The two kids he has were adopted. So how in the hell is he qualified to open his mouth and berrate any woman for doing what she needed to do to protect herself and her baby?? If he would've kept out of it and kept his big mouth shut, no one would care about Scientology or anything else!

Drug therapy didn't work for me on the long term. The grace of my God and a lot of prayer got me through. That doesn't mean I dismiss drug therapy for others. That's like throwing out the baby with the bathwater (sorry for the really bad pun)! If I'm sick, I'm sick. If vitamins and exercise work, great! But if they don't, I'd take lithium or anything else in a heartbeat if it meant I wouldn't end up in jail for killing my kid.

Tom Cruise should leave the "celebrity endorsement/pr work" for the Church to John Travolta, who presents a better case by being happy with Scientology without having to act as a psychotic know-it-all.

In Germany, you can not get a bank loan if you are a Scientologist. It used to be where if you went to a bank for a loan in parts of German that you had to sign a statement that you were not a Scientologist to get the loan.

This arose, at least in part, because of an undercover study where local Scientology churches were encouraging people to take out loans of anwhere between two and fifteen thousand pounds to pay for courses and lie on the application forms about what the loans were for. A new computer, a car, a holiday, anything but a course with the CoS. It was actually recorded by hidden cameras and microphones and I believe it happened in several European countries, although I've only seen the British one.

And about the supposed snake thing. If you are so freaked out with that then don’t go to a doctor. The symbol for doctors has two snakes, as you can clearly see below.

Sorry to blow your minds on that.

The universal symbol of the medical profession is called the caduceus, and it's been so for a few centuries at least. Bears a remarkable resemblance to the deoxyribonucleic acid molecule (DNA). Hidden knowledge indeed...

Interesting post though Buggs; very interesting from seeing it from the POV of someone who's inside it and finds it very positive. 🙂 I especially enjoyed reading your posts on drugging children as I've written a bit about that myself; mainly Ritalin though, rather than Prozac. Did you happen to see it at all?

Lilly Said to Know of Prozac Risk in '80s

And the freaky thing is, my friends and I have had beneficial effects from Prozac!

Well, you know what that means in refernce to this thread...... different stuff works gooder for different folks, and some other stuff doesn't work real good at all for some other folks.
So we have a Mexican standoff.

I mean, a Latino-American standoff.

But it is two snakes.

Yeah, I know. Two snakes = double helix.

Anyway, if you get a chance buggs, read this and tell me what you think of the section on Ritalin, which is somewhere near the end.

ya know...

All psych drugs and silly propaganda aside I would actually like to hear an opinion from somone who has read the "Dianetics" book or another work by L. Ron Hubbard (non sci-fi). You can argue about drugs and what the church of scientology may or may not of done until your blue in the face but a lamen wants to know: What are the fundamental principles of the Church of Scientology? What is their over all goal? Anyone? :rotate:
