The Solemaster Responds with a Solution to the Mysterious Broken MPEGs
Yeah man,
That lousy Solemaster, who does he think he is anyway? Can't even post an MPEG properly. I wouldn't touch his stuff with a 10 foot USB cable and, what?... Hey, I am the Solemaster!
Guys, I can tell you the MPEG's work fine, but please allow me to clear up this mystery so you can get down to enjoying the loot:
RIGHT-CLICK (not left click on the MPEG file)and select SAVE TARGET AS.
Then save that to your Desktop, or My Documents or wherever and play it on your own computer. I just checked them and they all work fine. I have the download logs to prove that others are getting them as well.
SO WHAT THE H*LL IS HAPPENING?
This mystified me as well because I would have this problem with other MPEGs from other sites. But they would download just fine from my W98 laptop. The Save Target As trick would work; still, I'm a techie and I like to know what is up.
Finally a good friend of mine who is REALLY sharp at this stuff explained exactly what happened.
Most of us bought or installed a computer which had some version of Windows on it which used Internet Explorer 5.0 or below. Some time ago, most of us upgraded to IE 5.5 + or whatever. The problem is that Microsoft's browser upgrade is too f***ing stupid to know how to play the MPEG's - it doesn't know to point to the Windows Media Player again for those of us who use that.
The solution? Reinstall Windows Media Player to get it as the default player for MPEG's FROM the IE browser. Understand?
This is not a Solemaster Quality Problem, it is a Microsoft issue.
But you make a real good point, Harvey. Even if it is not my fault, I should still address this on the page because the perception is that either I don't know what I'm doing or don't care. (and at the least, I DO care, heh heh) and make sure EVERYONE knows how to work around this. I just assumed by now that most folks knew about that trick - but that's what I get for assuming.
I understand that times are tough, and no one wants to pay their hard earned money without a pretty good feeling about what they are getting. Again, I am in the same boat as I buy tickling and foot related material as well and have been dissapointed.
I suggest you first go to the
http://www.solemaster.com/order_videos.htm page and then click on the MORE INFO link for each video and take a look at the description, pics and MPEG for that vid. Then for more information, go to the
http://www.solemaster.com/gate_of_soles.htm page and look at the corresponding online issue for that video (the issue comes with the video anyway on CD) for more pics and description.
Still a little leery about my site? Go to my Why Buy page at
http://www.solemaster.com/feedback_page.htm and see what others are saying about my products. I have a lot of happy customers and repeat business, so I know I'm on the right track. But I also strive to do better and listen to what my clientele wants to see more of.
To see how the site (and where I am coming from with the whole foot photography, bondage, tickling vison) got to be this way and where it is going, I STRONGLY encourage you to read my State of the Union Address at
http://solemaster.com/state_of_the_union.htm for some really good background information on my innermost desires.
If in doubt about a product, ASK ME. I am very quick with replies and totally honest. I just got done telling someone today that for what they were seeking, they were better off looking at FM Concepts. I have even looked up specific scenarios in my FM Concepts catalogs and told someone the exact video they were looking for. (it was out of production, but maybe it will turn up on EBAY)
Am I nuts for not pushing my own videos? Hardly. I want to sell stuff, but if I tell someone that Video #1 (Solemaster Cometh) has lots of hysterical laughter (and it doesn't - try erotic tickling, kinetic foot video) then you think they will buy from me again? How fast do you think a nasty review will show up here? Probably in nanoseconds. Not worth it, and it's bad karma.
Hope this helps, fellas
🙂
Sincerely,
-The Solemaster
