My best friend told about he person he read about, in California. This person supposedly created false ATM reciepts with a huge balance on them (as much as $300,000), then when he goes to the bars and a lady ask for his phone numbers, he writes it down on the reciept, stating he "has no other piece of paper with him".

The lady sees the bank balance and becomes "very interested" in this person.

The person who did this explained this is a sure-fire way to see if the person is really interested in you, or is just a gold-digger, interested in the size of your bank account.

Interesting. If it works, then it's self-protection. I imagine the woman would get mad when she found out the truth, whatever her intentions, but if she genuinely likes him, she'd probably understand.

If the man is looking for a long term relationship, then this is self-defeating. Beginning with a major deception is a very bad way to start off.

If he is just looking for some quick sex, then it is a cruel hoax.

Just my opinion.
