Ok guys, I'm going to be making at least $4,000 less than I did last year due to pay cuts and general bullshittery from the county that I work for.

I've started eBaying like last week. It has actually gone pretty good, but then I hit the listing and selling limits like a freaking brick wall! BAM! Only ten items per month? Really? Why can't I just soar like an eagle?

I did some research and found other places to list and sell my belonging, but I have NO idea whether they are reputable, in for the long hall, or just a pyramid scam where they take all these fees and NO ONE sees or buys my products.

So I would like to know for those of you who do sell things online, besides eBay, where are some places that you sell, and some positives for selling online through those websites. I'd also like you to honestly tell me if you have any negatives as well. Is there anyone who sells things on various websites like I am trying to do?

If you are worried about your privacy, please feel free to PM me or hit me up on my email ([email protected]) off TMF. I'd really appreciate your input.

Thanks guys!
Sunny

i sell stuff on craigslist its a good site imo, there is also yardsellr through facebook there are others as well just cannot think of them at the moment but they are all free

But don't you have to arrange to meet up with the person on Craigslist to get paid?

Have you tried Amazon? I know my ex sold lots of her old uni books that she didn't need anymore. Not sure if there are restrictions different to eBay, but it would be worth a try.

I agree: Craigslist works really well. Another one I've heard of is Kijiji.
I used to work for eBay, man was it a pain to get those seller fees later. You think you've made a good haul, then you get your invoice. Fuuuuuuuuuuuuu

Good luck!

PS - I never meet people at my house. I don't want them looking inside or knowing where I live (a lady has to protect herself) so I usually meet them at a public location like a mall or near transit 🙂

Craigslist and Amazon

I've used E-Bay once in a while but have bought and sold lots of stuff via Craigslist and Amazon, Sunriseticklee. Regarding Craigslist, you are right, the transaction is face to face but I have never had a lunatic show up at my door when I was the seller nor have any opened theirs when I was the buyer. As you're a woman, I understand your caution. If you live alone, arrange visits from buyers when you know neighbors are around.

A paycut of four grand?! Wow, that sucks. How long until Wall Street finally burns?

If you have a lot of old electronics, try gazelle.com. I had an old laptop that I sold to them and got paid in a few weeks.

if there are selling and listing limits how do people have stores on ebay selling 20 or 30 or 40 items?

There are limits on new accounts to avoid fraudulent sellers (ones to sell items and never actually give them to you) which there are TONS of. Once you build up a positive feedback rating, your limit will be increased. The rules might have changed since I worked there though.

I am a fan of Craigslist, it is what I use when I want to buy something used. Just always meet in a public place and you'll be fine.

You're right Darkharp. Right now my limit is 10. Listening to y'all though, I'm starting to think more and more that Craigslist may not be so bad if I meet people in a public place, like you said.

I'm still a little wary, but I will think about it and let you know how the first go around goes.

I heard Amazon has higher fees than eBay. Is that true?

I must be missing something here, but from some of the sellors that I buy from on ebay, then have more than 10 items a month for sale. But I must be missing something.

Good luck ST, pm and/or pc me anytime you need to talk.
