You don't have to buy anything....

If you live in Los Angeles, watch for the TV show "Legacy of Leadership" airing on KABC on Saturday, March 12, 2005, at 6:30PM. It's about the civil rights struggle in general and deals specifically with John Mack and his leadership at the Los Angeles Urban League for 30 years. I'm not saying what I did - hey, I'm in the credits & I'll leave it at that - but it's probably the biggest thing I've been involved with yet career-wise, and I'm an egotistical little wombat. It's narrated by Sidney Poitier. Woo! They call him Mr. Tibbs!

You know what they call me???

Please watch. We need the clients. Porkchops aren't cheap, and anyway, I can hold more gatherings with a better payroll coming in!

Hey. Oddjob is really Sidney Poitier? (This is how rumours get started 😛 )

Congrats on your good work - sounds interesting.

Thanks, Mr. 'Wicke. Well, we've all wondered if celebs drop by here under cloak of on-line nicknames....

But in this case, I was more of a researcher. Vernon Jordan called me up one day and let me know, empahtically, what questions he was NOT gonna answer. And there wasn't even one Monica one!

However, if any stalkers out there want old Sid's address & phone number, I accept Paypal. Woo! 😉

Congratulations, and good luck with the success of this special. It seems to me, it needs to be publicized right in LA, and also, perhaps there's a way of getting it shown nationally. On the one hand, it's local history, but on the other hand, local history is an important part of understanding national history. Civil rights history in particular is extremely complex, and at the same time as there's a standard narrative of what happened in the national awareness, there are also thousands of locales that have their own story, with respect to the emergence of civil rights movements and the nature of the obstacles they were up against. So, your documentary is important locally, but a national market for it shouldn't be ruled out either. And with Sidney Poitier narrating it, it really ought to get noticed.

Thank you for your kindness!

Actually, with some re-editing, we are indeed hoping for national airing somewhere. We had over 35 hours of interviews alone (not counting b-roll, archival footage, etc.) from people of various ages and locales/origins within the U.S.

Well, it was on! Who saw it? Anyone? I didn't - I don't live in L.A. I'm betting it was awesome, even better than the last episode of MASH or the 'Who Shot JR?' cliffhanger!!!
