Well, that's the "invisible chain" our free market proponents are so attached to (pun intended) at work, isn't it? I am happy for her that she makes so much money doing something we like, but I feel the same outrage as you towards the treatment your nation reserves to its brightest citizens. Something's not right there, but if we start to list the amount of people who don't make enough money compared to their value to society, it's gonna take all day and it will be a slippery slope.
Also, think about our struggling models. Taylor Raz, Kelli, Tasha, Bianca et al. They wish they'd make the same amount, and I can hardly blame them. Maybe we should kidnap this Canadian girl and have her tortured by all of them, I am sure we'd collect helluva lot of money

The education field is not very well respected in America. I started down that path and after a bit into it was just like, naw. Teachers are not treated well by parents or the system and then get all of the blame put onto them for a shoddy system
On the other hand my idol Timothy Snyder from Yale makes A LOT more every year than I make, and I already have a pretty good job for my qualifications. American universities are rich, very rich, and they don't mind spending to attract talent. So I guess there are some positives.
I agree with you, though, the American education system is terrible. Not as bad as certain European nation's (France's, among others), but still pretty bad. The way I see it, America was and still is a very enlightened nation (by Western standards of course ^_^): it is a wonderful place of creativity, be it artistic, scientific or technical. It took the best of European culture, and mixed it with the positive outlook of a pioneer nation launched forward in a constant struggle for its existence. For a while, it worked. Yet the system entered a steady decline ever since it has allowed some bogus sociological theories to enter its schools, instead of shielding them from the vicissitudes of society, with predictably terrible results. Christopher Lasch had seen everything fairly early, but he was standing alone and no one paid heed to his advice. Now the damage is massive.

Models make good money, though. I'm not terribly surprised by this, I believe I've wandered into similar situations via random websites and such. 90k for pics, though, that's something. Well, if someone pay's 10 dollars for a picture -- not terribly unreasonable, but in our section of the 'net, that can get you a clip instead -- then I can see it, with that many followers. Hell, I've considered throwing a few bucks at something like this before.
While
this model makes a good living, I doubt it is the case for the majority of them. True, sometimes they can strike gold: I heard about a $3000 commission recently. Although the complexity of the scenario and the number of participants sort of explained the price tag, it is still not bad for a day of work, all things considered. Still, if being a fetish model allowed one to live like Hugh Hefner, there'd be a lot more of them on the market, I think
