My reply to this question is no. Although one would think that logicallly a manager might lose his job for the type of collapse the Mets had. The fact is that Randolph guided the Mets to a comfortable division win last year. Additionally, this team was in first place most of this season, until yesterday, without their ace Pedro Martinez for 80 % of the season. Randolph didn't hit or pitch for the team during their poor stretch in September, nor did he have any control over the Phillies hot streak. I say that the Mets need changes, but, that firing Randolph isnt one of them. You can't entirely blame him for their poor end to the season.
