Is there a way to be automatically signed into the forum,so i dont have to type in my name and password every time?

Yes, if you allow cookies (Which I would imagine you do). When signing in to the TMF, make sure the box next to "Remember Me?" is checked (Whis should be next to the boxes where you input username and password). This should keep you signed in until the cookie is deleted (Usually when the Temporary Internet Files Cache is filling up and an old one gets "bumped"). If you are already doing this and you are unable to stay logged in, then you have a cookie problem most likely. It can be fixed.

Thanks HDS.I thought i had that box checked, but perhaps not.

As i thought i do have the box checked, but it does not work for me.

buggy, what i did was add TMF to my favorites..you should have a place near the top of your computer on your home page where you can add favorites..just run your mouse over each icon until you find the right icon, it should say favorites..like with mine the icon is a yellow star..after i added TMF to my favorites and then go to my favorites and click on the TMF website, i'm always automatically logged in, unless there has been a change on the computer, like saturday :ranty: when hubby was messing around with the computer... this way i never have to sign in, or remember my very long password, however i do have it written down this time, since in the past i've lost my password three times after there had been some sort of change on my computer..

Favorites won't do it. Only the combination of a cookie and the "Remember Me?" box will. I suspect you simply checked the "Remember Me?" box and it has held.

bugman, what browser do you use (I'm sure I've asked this before but mind like a sieve, yanno?)

LOL HDS,i know the feeling.I use mozilla? I think thats the correct spelling.

Mozilla Firefox I'd imagine (Unless you use Seamonkey, which is unlikely). What needs to be done now is to go to the "Tools" menu at the top of the browser window and select "Options...". Once open, go to the "Privacy" tab. Look there for the area labeled "Cookies". Is the "Accept cookies from sites" box checked? What does it say in the "Keep Until" box? It is likely one or both of these things that is tripping you up, but it might be one other thing. We'll look at that once I hear what those two are set to.

When i select privacy i get the following-A window with a slide bar set to medium. To the right of that from top to bottom-

Blocks 3rd party cookies that do not have a compact privacy policy.

Blocks 3rd party cookies that use personally identifiable info without explicit concent.

Restricts 1st party cookies that use personally identifiable info without explicit concent.

When i click on sites i get the following-a window that says-

specify which sites are always or never allowed cookies, regardless of privacy policy. There is a box to enter the web address, with the option to block or allow.

I saw nothing about save untill,i hope this helps.

That's Internet Explorer, not Mozilla, aye. If it is set to medium, one should be able to stay logged in. Can you go to the "General" tab and click "Settings" under "Browsing History"? What is the value in the box next to "Disk space to use"? If that is above 50MB or so it should be of no consequence. In that case, you may wish to purge all cookies (In case one for the TMF has gone bad). To do this, go back to the "General" tab and hit "Delete" under "Browsing history", selecting "Delete Cookies" in the new window that appears. Try logging into the TMF with the "Remember Me" checked then.

I have 1191mb of disc space left, but deleting cookies did not resolve the problem.Well such is life.I can,at least get signed in the old fashioned way. Thanks for trying to help, tis much appreciated my friend.😀

You may wish to try an alternative browser to fix the issue. But, beyond that, I do not know what to tell you. It could be a firewall or antivirus program interfering, but such is difficult to diagnose. 🙁

I think it could indeed be a firewall issue. My brother, who set the computer up,is an evil genius about such things hehe.
