Sleeping bag problem + cute drawing

Okay, two more quick ones...

Eh, first, a Poser pic showing the perils of not knowing whose woods you sleep in when going camping.

Kelyn: C'mon, you're in a sleeping bag...this is WAY too easy.

Guess this is just a tickling situation that seems pretty easy to come up with...

Another quick 'footy' drawing here, again suggested by the great Scamwich.

Anyone remember 'Keio Flying Squadron' (for the Sega/Mega CD) or 'Keio Yuugekitai' (for the Sega Saturn)? I doubt many do recall this series of quirky and VERY Japanese-themed shooter/platformer games. They star Rami, a gal that wears a bunnygirl outfit and ears, and Pochi, her dragon 'pet'/friend/steed...oh, and a lot of racoons/tanuki and other weirdness. 😀

Anyway, here's a spin (literally) on one of the intermission splash screens from KFS #1, with Rami and Pochi simply sleeping in a hammock lazily. Of course, I 'moved' the camera to a different, cuter angle. ^^

I tried to do something similar to the game's art style (such as how spindly and big-headed Rami is) but there are just some things I wasn't completely comfortable with (I have to draw a NOSE on a character from the front 😉 ) and had to change.

I guess you can think of an easy way to wake Rami up...

Kelyn: C'mon, you're in a sleeping bag...this is WAY too easy. - The sneakers lying there are really a nice touch. Still I worry for the ticklee since I don't see her head sticking out anywhere...hopefully she won't sufficate.

Lazy Rami + Pochi, sleeping in a hammock (non-tickle)- I like the angle that you chose to use. It's a very interesting drawing...makes me think of the Lunar bromides that always seemed to sneak in a barefoot girl every so often.

Holy crap!! I thought I was the only one who remembered Keio Flying Squadron from the Sega CD. I've been looking for that game for years. Great to see the old girl back in circulation...LOL

I love both of those pics! The second one (Lazy Rami & Pochi) shows exactly how I like my sleeping beauties to appear, one foot dangling off the bed (or hammock) and the other foot with the sole exposed, both feet vulnerable to a midnight tickler.

I have a Sega CD and remember hearing about that game, vaguely.

Anyways, feel free to quote me as saying that the Rami and Pochi picture is your best anime picture yet. Its got the perspective, its got the right angle, its got the right proportions, and detail was put into the hammock. All these things and the two cute characters make for the best picture you've drawn (in my mind). Your art is getting more an more accurate and the lineart is getting cleaner, more crisp and more refined.

Nope, I was and still am a Sega CD fan, and I certainly loved/remembered this fine little shooter (both for gameplay and it's extremely cute/weird theme). The sequel was just as good too. 😀

Thank you very much for the compliments...glad to hear I'm improving. ^^ I still wasn't completely comfortable with the game's style (which I'd recommend if any has a Sega CD still in some form) which you can see in the screenshot above, but I tried to balance things with my own linework/style (as I said, I have to draw a 'nose' 😉 ). I'll try to keep it up. ^^

No problem Khali. I didn't know there was a sequel made for Saturn. I'm sure I could get the original (maybe) at one of my classic gaming meets, but the sequel might be a little harder to come by. At any rate, I must try it sometime. It looked rather interesting.

Two excellent pics there! Sleeping barefoot in a sleeping bag in Kelyn's forest is hust asking for trouble! And although I've never played the Keio series, I hear about it all the time. I heard the first game on the Sega CD was kinda strange, but I've seen the screenshots of the Sega Saturn game, and it's weirder than some of visions Cheshire Cat sees when he's stoned! 😛
