We actually had a couple three inches of snow here in the south Shenandoah last night. This is my second winter here, and the first snow I've seen last this late in the day. Kinda neat. that's the one thing we miss about Ohio is big fluffy pretty snows.

Of course we'll take our winters that get one or two days a year below zero, and our spring that starts in late Feb early March over consistent snows...lol

But it was nice to see for a night/morning. They even managed to get the salt trucks out before dawn. Haven't seen that even with the ice storms.

i'm sick of snow..and to think i actually wanted it..but noooo take it away please...i like it around the holidays..but after the New Year nope..and we got more last week than the entire time i've lived in this section of the state..

I was spoiled by living in the Bible belt all those years...

...heck, this past winter up here in the northeast has dropped more snow on us than the previous fourteen years' worth of winters I spent down south COMBINED, at least three of those "winters" containing no discernable snowfall whatsoever. I used to LOVE snow...when I was nine. :stickout I am now of the mind that snow, or, rather, appreciable snowfall, only belongs in the following cases:

1) wherever people enjoy skiing, especially mountainous areas such as Colorado and Vermont, and of course overseas like in the Swiss Alps and what-have-you
2) Siberia
3) Antarctica, the North Pole, and wherever penguins and polar bears and baby seals can frolic happily and audition for animated Coca-Cola ads
4) postcards sent by vacationing pals to folks that don't normally have to put up with the stuff
5) most of the really good outdoor scenes from "It's a Wonderful Life"
6) Okay, look, I'll admit that SOMETIMES snow can be okay for the rest of us...but ONLY if it snows enough, JUST enough, to baaaaaaarely cover the ground on, say, Christmas Eve, so all that "White Christmas" bit can happen, and then it can all melt away by about noon Christmas Day
7) on the OTHER hand, snowglobes are awfully cool...
8) AND Christmas carols that mention it are great, too, to say nothing of Styx's awesome hit "Snowblind"
9) and it's NOT likely I'll actually be able to stretch this list into the traditional ten items...
10) ...so don't bother continuing to read this :rolleyes

Not too long ago,Las Vegas had snow that lasted for about a day-and-a-half,for it real nice to see snow(since I never lived in a snowy area),but when I later went outside for a walk it became a pain dealing with the icy sidewalks, mega cold weather, and my fingers freezing to the point of near forstbite, which makes me glad I don't live in an always snowy area.
