From an article in a newspaper. Hawkair is banning bulldogs, pekinese and pugs because their ugliness freaks out flight attentants, baggage handlers, no seriously they do want to be responsible if the dog dies because of respiratory problems. Also dogs too drugged to stand on four paws, (not two or three) and any agitated or aggressive behaviour. (They should tell that to some passengers). Anyway, just wanted to share and see what you think.

It's not a bad idea. Many deaths are often secondary to oversedation with such drugs as acepromazine - which lowers blood pressure and is not very safe for those animals traveling in the cargo department where temperatures are much cooler and cabin pressure is not well equalized. We also have to fill out health papers for animals traveling by plane that state they are able to travel at ambient temperatures only - some animals are grounded if temperatures at the departure airport or the intended destination are too hot or too cold.

how dare they put animals in a cargo area.

i so would like to put airline executives in the landing gear rear-wells !!!
