so who is excited about the new superman movie?

i've seen previews and saw the actor on larry king the other night. it's uncanny the resemblance he bears to christopher reeves in the superman get up.. so who all is going? and do you think the curse will happen again? and also is it a good idea to use an unknown like they basically did with christopher?

I'm not a superman fan.

I've never been a real big fan of the Superguy. I always felt he was too powerful to really be considered a "heroe". In my opinion to be a heroe means you are risking something when you go after the villian(s). Unless the villian had Kripronite, magic, or weapons made of/from Kryptonian oragins he's more or less unbeatable. Thats why I liked Doomsday and Gog so much they actualy kicked superman's ass pretty good.

Now Spider-Man, thats a heroe.

"excited"? no. "hoping it won't be a TOTAL loss of money and time?" you betcha. after seeing Daredevil and Hulk destroyed by crappy direction and dialogue, i've been keeping my hopes really, really low. especially where the Transformers and Ghost Rider movies are concerned.

ahh yes he should be deliciously evil as luthor.. i also heard someone earlier today on cnn saying lois lane wasn't sexy enough.. i didn't think margot kidder was sexy at all.

No Margot wasn't but the ugly duck got Superman!!!!! , what a refreshing change that was.

i'm kinda scared. tom welling would have been good in the suit, but he said he wasn't ready to shoulder that kind of responsibility, and that without micheal rosenbaum as lex, he just could not do it.
this brandon routh guy...even after months of training he could not gain enough muscle for the suit, so foam was added to bulk him out...makes him look like a terribly made Ken doll. it's the little things that bother me, really.
and kate bosworth looks like a lost teenager with bad hair...i dunno...like i said, ain't getting my hopes up.

Anyway, it's like cloudgazer was sayin' about not getting your hopes up, these kinds of films from comic books aren't exactly known for having intense storylines, you have to read the comic to find those... lol So they'll probably concentrate more on the visual-effects, take X-men 3 for example, there were too many characters to properly explore each of their stories... Morale of the story, when you can't develop a storyline any further, beef up on the visual-effects! 😉

i agree with Dario here 90%. though the effects look cool, to give the Big Blue Boy Scout his due, ya gotta have the nifty visuals. however, one of the things that made the recent Punisher movie cool was the lack of spiffy effects. but with Hellboy (another nifty flick IMHO), the effects were needed for the supernatural aspect of the story.
now, for REALLY KICK ASS special effects, hold on to your hats for the live-action Transformers movie....

I think the "S" on the new guy's suit stands for "sissy."

I really dont want to see it, but probally will when it comes out on DVD.

But for those that dont know.....
Iron Man will be the next Marvel hero on the big screen, 2007 or 2008 release, and then Captain America a year or so after.
I was kind of hoping for an Avengers movie...but perhaps its still in the works.

Well, here's my two cents.
Loved it. Absolutely loved it. Brandon Routh as Superman, he really made the role his own. He didn't try to ape Christopher Reeve. Kevin Spacey as Lex, wonderful choice. Kate Bosworth as Lois was alright, but I think the character was not written the way I usually see Lois. But the actress did alright. Now, without giving anythign away here, I'm sure there will be plenty of people who will get all nitpicky about some aspects of the film. Some Superman conventions are played with. But overall, this movie had the feel of he best of the superhero films. It captured that mythic quality that Superman has. This film, and the actors and special effects, captured the sheer sense of Superman's power, and his compassion. I really enjoyed it. Superman Returns indeed. And he was sorely missed.

i want to see it but more than likely will wait for it to come to video or something...i'm somewhat excited/trepidatious (not sure if it's a word or not but there ya go) to see it. i know that it'll have a completely different feel than the first 4 with reeve, but i'm sure it'll be okay.

that would've been worse if he had...i did hear rumblings (aside from here) about how they changed lois' character, made her more meek and less ballsy than she was in the other movies or in smallville and lois and clark which kinda sucks in my humble opinion...Lois is meant to be a take charge, take no crap kinda chick, not a wimp.

Superman Returns was awful! I saw the movie on opening night. The movie was made into a pointless chick flick.
