This was an art project from an artist in residence in Barcelona named Emily Weitzman. She was exploring the blurry boundary between laughter and pain, and if I remember correctly, she demonstrated that by being gang tickled as an art exhibit. That's something I would go to a museum to see!
There was an Instagram account about this exhibit that included other artists in residence, but I think it got taken down. Weitzman's was the only one to feature tickling.

That was probably a deliberate effect as part of the art installation.

I could say some things about "pointlessness" and a lot of installation art... but suffice it to say, clarity wasn't the point.

Her messaging would only work if the tickling were non consensual... which it wasn't. So it ends up looking like she was playing around with a friend... which she was.
