Our speakers won't play any thing on our computer now. There a (boston brand) and we installed XP Pro like 2 weeks ago. and ever since that time Our speakers dont work now when me or my Dad trys to play music video clips etc... i even went into the volume control panel and looked around there for awhile but it still didn't help. We even checked all the wires on the back of the computer and the speaker wires but everything is plugged in tight

Could it be old speakers? we gotta Get new ones or maybe its a Burnt and worn out sound card?

help needed

Tell me.....do you have Real Player on your computer? Because I have found that Real Players volume setting sometimes overrides the computers for some unknown reason. For instance, when I set Real Player's volume to zero and try to listen to music, nothing comes out, even if I play that music in a different program, such as Windows Media Player.

Check on that, it could very well be it.

Nope DivineShadow we have Windows media player 9 series. i had Real Player but as soon as i found out i couldn't see any video clips with it. I uninstalled it right away

Alright then, how are they connected to your computer? Via the headphone jack or a USB connection? If USB, reinstall the speaker software OR, plug them into a different USB port and let plug and play reinstall them.

There connected by the speaker jack. Theres two wires on the left Boston speaker one speaker wire plugs into the Left speaker . Then theres a speaker Wire on the left speaker thats already built into that left speaker and from that it has a blue jack that plugs into the Big speaker that plays all the sound. and that Big speaker sits on the floor all the way behind our computer desk

You prob'ly need to update your audio drivers -- I had to update mine when I installed Service Pack 1 over Windows XP.

You can do it online from Device Manager; maybe one of our techie people can explain it better than I could 🙂

Best of luck,

damn problems

Ahem....when computers works good no complain....but when something going wrong with no clue 😡.... sometimes i would threw mine and have no more problems. Yes but in some cases it is useful. For that speakers problem...i had that kind of.......but it was just wrong input. What i could say to you BBR is, if you have it installed to check the Norton System Works program. I use it to check all computer problems and it often resolves them. So try it and good luck.
Stupid question to finish : are your speakers on ???????

Well, if they are simply plugged into a speaker jack, then yes, update your audio drivers. For that, I am of little use, I am afraid. ^.^

alf (Cool show by the way hehe when alf always tried to eat the Cat why did they have to end that show? 🙁 )
