Spiderman 2

Woo hoo!

Yay! Spidey!

Ode to a Superhero-- (sung to the tune of Billy Joel's "Piano Man")

Poor Peter Parker was pitiful
Couldn't have been any shyer
Mary Jane still wouldn't notice him
Even if his hair was on fire
But then one day he went to that science lab
That mutated spider came down
Oh, and now Peter crawls over everyone's walls
And he's swingin' all over town
La li la, li de da
La la, le le la da dom

Sling us a web, you're the Spider-Man
Sling us a web tonight
'Cause we're all in the mood for a hero now
And there's evil-doers to fight

Now Harry the rich kid's a friend of his
Who horns in on Mary Jane
But to his great surprise it seems she prefers guys
Who can kiss upside-down in the rain
"With great power comes great responsibility"
That's the catchphrase of old Uncle Ben
If you missed it, don't worry, they'll say the line
Again and again and again
Oh, la la la, di de da
La la, di di da da dom

Now Norman's a billionaire scientist
Who never had time for his son
But then something went screwy and before you knew he
Was trying to kill everyone
And he's ridin' around on that glider thing
And he's throwin' that weird pumpkin bomb
Yes, he's wearing that dumb Power Rangers mask
But he's scarier without it on

Sling us a web, you're the Spider-Man
Sling us a web tonight
'Cause you're brave and you're strong and so limber now
But where'd you come up with those tights?

It's a pretty sad day at the funeral
Norman Osborn has bitten the dust
And I heard Harry's said he wants Spider-Man dead
Aw, but his buddy Pete he can trust
Oh, and M.J. is all hot for Peter now
Aw, but Peter, he just shuts her down
Mary Jane, don't you cry, you can give it a try
Again when the sequel comes 'round
Oh, la la la, di de da
La la, di di da da dom

Sling us a web, you're the Spider-Man
Sling us a web tonight
'Cause we all sure could use a hero now
And we think that you'd do all right

(Wierd Al is The Man!)

Dr. Oc? Awwww....I was hoping for Venom, Carnage, and Sinister Scorpion....ah well....

I have heard that Dr. Oct will be a much better villian because you can see Dr. Octs face instead of behind a mask!!!

What a waste to put Willam Defoh's face behind a mask:sowrong: :sowrong:

that preview gave me such goosebumps the first time i saw it in the movie theater, i can't wait!!!

~clair 😉

Maybe if there is a 3rd Spiderman the Scorpion or the Rhino or even the Vulture will be in it

It doesn't matter - he looks like a monster without it anyway. 😉

I have to admit that this movie does look pretty awesome, and the trailer is one of the best I have ever seen. The first movie was all right, but I hope they make Spidey have more weight this time. It didn't look real before.

I heard that Venom was going to be the main bad guy in the third spider-man movie.

If Venom will be in the third movie (which I hope he is) then they should have the fourth movie revolve around the "Maximum Carnage" series. That would be cool, since Carnage is cool, and his band of psychopaths would be there too (hopefully). They'd probably screw it all up though. The first movie wasn't as good as it was hyped to be. It was more about Parker's blossoming relationship with Mary Jane than it was about him fighting the Green Goblin. The action scenes were good, but it revolved too much on the romantic aspects, I think. It probably let really big Spiderman fans down.

Finally we might have a good movie this summer. I heard that the rock was going to play venom. I think that was just a rumor though.

Actually, im also looking forward to Van hellsing, punisher. I hope they dont ruin the punisher.

Ah, welcome to the perils of trying to make motion pictures out of well known characters and storylines. For me, I was a bit disapointed they did the origin story as surely the VAST majority of folks watching knew the basics already and it could have been summed up in the opening credits? Still, now that's out the way hopefully they'll be more time to make the most out of the 'Superhero' parts of the film.

As for Venom (and I haven't watched the first film for a while so don't treat this as gospel) I believe they laid the very basic bits of groundwork for that already with a line that basically said "Eddie Brock can't seem to take a pic of Spiderman". But... that's a HECK of a lot of storyline to pack into one flick isn't it? Wouldn't you have to do the whole 'Black Costume -> Living Creature -> New Host' thing AND wrap it up all in the course of two hours?

Ummm... I can't believe I'm going to admit this but I'm actually looking forward to the new Harry Potter film. No, wait, come back, haven't lost the plot totally, there's one, and only one, reason I want to see it - Alan Rickman and Gary Oldman sharing a screen! That's gotta be worth the price of admission, surely?

The new 2 1/2 minute preview will be shown during "The Apprentice" this Thursday night. Rumor is, it'll be around the :40 mark. Set your vcrs.....

Agreed, but it can be done, and it is all the time with movies that are based on novels, comics, or even true stories via re-enactment. Theres always going to be a snip here and and a snip there, but as for Brock and Venom, its really quite simple. Just cut the out the part about Spiderman having the symbiote first. Sure, that will be a disappointment, but it would keep things moving along and fresh. It will be very important however to make it known that Brock now despises Parker. Why he does can be hinted at or made scenes in the movie. But these need not be a focus, so much as to tell the audiance why he's upset and why he's holding grudges.

It works just as well to say that the symbiote just 'came to him' and to explain more about it rather than have show Parker with it, etc., etc. I don't think that many people would be pissed about that. Dissapointed, but not pissed. I think a fan would understand how it would be necessary so that it all fits in the alotted time a movie has. As long as they do the Rddie Brock/Venom character justice, I don't think people will bitch, especially the fans. And with the CG they have, they can make the transformation from Eddie to Venom and Venom to Eddie rather well. Like when the suit leaves him for example, thats seems easy enough.

The only worry I have for Venom and Carnage is that they would be totally CG. That might look stupid, like the Hulk did in the recent remake of that series. There are ways to work around this, but its all a matter of budget and time.

@ AphxA- The Rock? Nah....I don't think so. He's cool and all, but he just doesn't seem like her has the right personality to play Brock. Brock, for lack of a better word is dull, at least up until he starts pumping iron and the symbiote comes to him. The Rock is a very athletic man, and his stunts would look believable if he were to play the role, but with the Rock, I just see it as a total mismatch of character and persona. Also, Eddie Brock is white, not samoan (spelling). With respect to the Rock and the samoan people.

The Rock might make a good Rhino or Sandman. I see Ben Kingsley as The Vulture.

Venom would be the most likely villain in the third, although it would be extremely difficult to cover all the bases plot-wise. And I think I missed the Eddie Brock reference in the first one, which is odd considering how many times I've seen it.

I'm curious as to how X-Men 3 will similarly handle the EXTREMELY intricate plot involving Jean's rebirth as Phoenix.

But as for Spidey 2, I had my doubts about Alfred Molina at first but after seeing the trailer Doc Ock looks awesome - he's always been my favorite Spidey bad guy anyway 😎

(Hey, don't the shades on that "cool" face look a little like.....nahhhhhhh....)

Doc Oct. is a good character, but he's corny, and his haircut just looks weird. Thats a horrible hairdo! He's got to do something about that! When I see him I end up focusing on the hair and not him. It just stands out, and not in a good way. 😛

I liked how they introduced Venom in the spider man animated series a while back. John Jameson's shuttle crashes back to earth, bringing with it the venom creature.
Personally, i think the third movie should be the Sinister Six.

I heard there may not actually be a third X-Men movie due to the amount of money one of the actors wanted (The guy who played Wolverine, I think.). However, I heard this a long time ago, and don't really know how accurate it is. I think I'm gonna check IMDB to see if I can find anything.

I refuse to attend a movie where the hero is named "Spiderman".

They should use the gender-neutral term: Spiderperson

(Grabbing my tomato shield)

P50 hold onto that tomato shield good and hard cause I'm lobbing one right at you! lol

Anyways I can't wait for this movie. When I was a wee little thing the only thing keeping me sane besides that annoying voice in my head was Spiderman cartoon show.

Dr. Octopus was my favorite too, hehehe puss...
