Did any of you see it after O.C last night? Its AWESOME. I was taken back by it entirely. Its far better than the teaser trailer that came out quite some time ago and the preview definitely validates a few things, especially concerning Darth Sidious/Palpatine.

If you missed the preview, you can see it with the movie "Robots". Its being exclusively shown with that movie.

You can download the full preview online on starwars.com on MONDAY. After monday, it will be restricted to members only. So download it or view it while you can.

***PREVIEW SPOILER, DON'T READ BELOW IF YOU DON'T WANT TO SEE IT***

"Chancellor, you're under arrest!"- Mace Windu (flanked by several jedi, in Palpatine's office, with their sabers drawn and ignited)

"Are you threatening me, master jedi?"- Chancellor Palpatine (as he pulls his saber out of his sleave, ignites it and jumps over his table to attack the jedi with lightning quick speed)

That was cool! 😀

I can barely wait for this movie! 😀

May 19th people, May 19th. 😀

"Star Wars Goes To Hell

Posted By Dustin on March 10, 2005

CBS News reports:

'Star Wars' goes to hell in its final episode, and the trip may cost it the PG rating that the previous five films have earned, says the series' creator, George Lucas.

Speaking to Correspondent Lesley Stahl, the filmmaker provides a peek at the much anticipated movie for a report to be broadcast on 60 Minutes, Sunday, March 13, at 7 p.m. ET/PT.

"I don't think I would take a 5- or a 6-year-old to this," says Lucas of "Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith." "It's way too strong."

"[The film] is much more dark...more emotional. It's much more of a tragedy. My feeling is that it will probably be a PG-13, so it will be the first 'Star Wars' that's a PG-13."

I can't wait for this movie either.

One question though...

Do you think we'll be able to see Anakin in action as Vader, as in hunting down and destroying the Jedi population, or will it be Anakin as himself after he's turned to the dark side of the force?

Cheers.😀

I think to carry over the emotion properly it would be better if Anakin was going around asassinating jedi as himself, as a sith. I'm assuming he will already be Darth Vader before even his duel with Obi-Wan.

The idea of seeing Anakin for the last moments of his life as Anakin Skywalker (or so we think), and being a sith at the same time is paramount in understanding his slide to the darkside was progressive and not instantious.

From basic human emotions of fear and anger as a child, to Palpatine's brainwashing, and then to the violent erruption of these bottled up feelings, would call for more of a metamorphasis than an instant change. While it will probably appear as an instant change, we all know it has not been. It was slow and lingering, but we all knew it would come to this.

What we'll all see in episode III is the culmination of all that has happened in his life errupting. While theres probably one specific thing that will prove to be the thing that set him off, it was merely a gateway to allow the rest of his hate, anger, and fear to manifest itself.

Palpatine has set the board, and moved the pawns. Its checkmate for Palpatine, or so he thinks, which is whats so wonderful about the Star Wars saga and the moral of the story and in the way Lucas decided to show it, with the present first and the past second.

Despite how horribly evil things become, we know in the end they will be set right. The series is complete, and the saga linked together.

What I find interesting is finding out that Palpatine had Anakin placed on the Jedi council, and the council subsequently refusing him Master status. One little clue into Anakin's getting pissed off at Mace. You just know that Anakin's going to be the one to take Mace down.

Another powerful moment was seeing Obi-Wan scream at Anakin "You were the Chosen One!" You could hear the betrayal. I expect another fine job from Ewan MacGregor as the doomed Knight.

What I am told is that he is Darth Vader the moment he becomes a Sith, and not when he gets the uniform on. That is just a suit to help him live. He is Darth Vader, nad he transforms on screen with the yellow eyes that Darth Maul has.

Lucas said the battle between Darth Vader (Anakin pre suit) and Obi Wan is the longest then any other lighte sabre duel in any of the other films. I thought he also said it is longer than all of them combined, but I could be wrong. Also, that Anakin and Obi Wan yell at each other and thay have alot of hatefull dialogue during the battle. It isn't your standard lightsabre battle, but a street fight between two ex friends.

Yeah, already know all of what you've said in your posts, but its good to know for those that don't.

after watching the trailer, i cant freakin wait for this movie! i got chills when Palpatine said "are you threatening me Master Jedi?!" May 19th is forever from now!!! you just KNOW the Obi-Wan vs Anakin lightsaber duel is going to be off the charts!

While that could be possible, I still thing its going to be Sidious who kills Windu. To support this idea from before, the trailer shows them confronting eachother, shortly after the scene where the jedi barge into Palpatine's office. I'm guessing Palpatine kills those jedi and Mace pursues him to the roof, or on some sort of outside structure, because Palpatine's hair is blowing in the wind.

Sidious obviously gets the jump on them, as they still may not have found out he's a sith master. IF Mace Windu survives this duel it will be a miracle.

Perhaps Palpatine has not physically transformed yet either. But his cover is blown now, but it doesn't matter, and he has nothing left to hide and can finally make an offensive move against the jedi.

Obviously he's kept himself from allowing his darkside powers from completely empowering him because the jedi would have detected that sooner than later. It makes sense, since his overwhelming power is what began the slow physical transformation to begin with (from episode I-II), and then of course the full transformation in episode III into the Palpatine we know.

George lucas has promised this one to be full of great scenes and light saber duel battles. AFter seeing the trailer off the o.c. show, i think this movie will be just that.

It has to be, it just has to be. What a shame if Star Wars ended (for now anyway) in an unsatisfactory way. I'm sure there will be things critics will be looking to criticize, but on the whole, I'm sure the movie will please.

As I stated in my first post, it may even recieve a PG-13 rating, which would be a Star Wars first. They're definitely taking the physical violence up a notch. This is the thick of a war afterall.

i have this "friendly wager" with a co-worker and i wanted to see what you fans thought. do you think Padme dies in this film? i say no, but my friend says yes.

the reason why i say no is because Leia has a memory of her mother. i dont think the twins are born during Episode 3. what do you think?

I was actually talking to someone the other night about this, and I agree with you for the reasons you state.

However, its possible, however unlikely, that the mother Leia remembers is not Padme at all, but Bail Organa's wife. Luke of course does not remember his mother because he was never raised with one.

Alot of people want to believe the reason Anakin turns to the dark side is because Padme dies. But I don't honestly think thats it. I think it has to do with everything that has been building up to this point, the brainwashing, his troubled past, his dead mother, his jealously and resentment and the growing distrust the council has for him. Anakin is desperate to both prove himself and gain a deeper understanding of things.

Theres this saying, this quote-

"A jedi gains power through knowledge, a sith gains knowledge through power."

Palpatine, as we can see at the beginning and middle of the trailer suggestions to Anakin that there is another way to get what he desires, all the more faster and with better results.

"The quick and easy path" as Yoda explained to Luke so, so many years later.

Anakin is already preped and ready to join the darkside (just the type of impatient and angry person he is makes him a perfect sith candidate which makes his being a jedi difficult and strained), and I don't think its any single thing that will ammount to his betrayal, but rather, as I've said already, the culmination of everything prior and as well as what he's currently going through.

He grows ever more distant from his mentor, and ever closer to Palpatine, because with Palpatine he has more in common, and to his suprize finds out the one whom has been a source of guidance for him and suggests this dark power should be sought is also the one who offers it and will lead him to greatness. Subconciously, Anakin has already committed the betrayal and has turned his back on all of them, and they are forced to retaliate once he makes his actual decision.

Well IESBN just posted the tracks that will be on the soundtrack and the answere of her dying in the film or not is one of the title tracks. SPOILER

Acording to the soundtrack track title, she lives:
The Birth Of The Twins and Padme's Destiny Medley

So there you go.

I'd appriciate it that you don't post spoilers in this thread. I was already pretty sure what happens, so reading what you have in that hidden coding was fine. I know people have a choice of whether or not to look, like I did, but I think its too soon for these things.

I wish they wouldn't have done that though. They did it with Qui-Gon Jinn's death, and labeled the track as, if I'm not mistaken, "Qui-Gon's funeral". They shouldn't release the soundtracks before the movies. Its an easy way for someone to have something spoiled for them when they weren't even looking for it.
