For all the geeks in the forum (lol including my fair self)...anyone got this yet? I've been playing it for like 4 days solid, haven't got anywhere, but *my god* is it good. Loads of fun on the European server 🙂

Anyone else care to share there thoughts? Think its worth the subscription fee?

*awaits Dave's response 😉*

I hate that game SO much.

All I do is mission after mission after mission. And the combat is boring and blah blah. The only good thing about the game are the pets, and the character creation. Though, when they add more content, I might go back and play it someday.

Anyway, I am playing Final Fantasy XI now. Much better game in my opinion. 🙂

In a related point, (sorry to change the subject) but I think I am the only person who hates Knights of the Old Republic for the XBox. It's boring.

Back to Galaxies, I've heard good things, but haven't played it yet.

Bah, if you want a real MMORPG, play Phantasy Star Online ....that game is so awesome

I loved SWG for a while but now I've gotten unbearably bored with it, it just seems to go nowhere. It's another game that was released about six months too early I think.

Exactly. IT goes nowhere. ALl I did before I quit was mission after mission, and every now and then, I would try to buy a new non-creature handler pet for the helluvit.

Would be nice if they added some good content into the game. Oh well. Someone come to FF11 and play with me? please? I'm so lonely... lol

What is this game? I've never heard of it! When in the timeline is it based? What is it like? Most importantly, HOW THE SMEG DO I GET TO PLAY IT??!!!!!!?????

I'm playing as Jaden Korr in Jedi Academy right now and enjoying it hugely. Can't wait to get my dual-sabre technique worked out properly.

Please Admiral, let me know how it works so I can get playing. I wanna square off against ya sometime.

Aaaaah, my young (yet large and green) padawan, take a seat by my camp, here have some banfa treat, and I shall tell all....

...ack. There I go again thinking I'm all Obi-wanish. Apologies BJ.

Ok, its set just after the death star has been smegged at the battle of yavin, and the rebels have moved out and are (probably) seeting up at hoth. The galaxy itself though is still reeling from the destruction of alderaan, so its an interesting and troubled time indeed. Its a 100% online game, you play across 9 (I think) planets, and they are huuuuuuuuge, man. And you can be whatever the hell you want to be: Crafter, fighter, tailor, image designer, scout, chef, weaponsmith, loads of stuff. All the famous locations have been added to: Mos Eisley even has a spot-on cantina, complete with funky music from Ep 4 😉

Its £10 a month to play it, but the servers are excellent and well-maintained. For those that say its boring...well, Id say its as good as you make it: Artisans have the ability to shape just about everything thats been placed, and forming guilds is all good 😀

Anyway, my wookiee calls me...must dash 😉

All very interesting Admiral, BUT HOW DO I GET TO PLAY IT?!?!?!?!?!!???? I wanna know!!! Waaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! :cry1:

You buy the game in a video game store just like any other, Jim, which will allow you to install the client on your computer and give you one free month of subscription to the online world. After that it's pay-to-play. Keep in mind that the game is completely useless without paying the monthly subscription, there's no single-player gaming with it, just the Massively Multiplayer aspect.

what are you? an articulated, senile frenchman?

LIL APH'S BACK!!!!!!! 😀😀😀😀😀😀😀

How was Uni Aph, did ya get to booze and be tickled a lot? 🙂

Thanks for that Jeff, it looks interesting. Sadly I doesn't really interest me, because I'm not interested in playing in that particular time.

Does anyone know of a similar gaming setup where the timeline is set after the Battle of Endor at the time of the Expanded Universe or the NJO?

Sorry I can't comment on the game yet. I'm still on dial-up, and I'm not even attempting this game until I go broadband. I've heard good things though. I have heard a lot of people say it's boring, but those who have chosen to follow the Jedi path seem to have better and longer experiences.

Apparently Dave(according to the game's web-site), you have to play the game for quite a while before you get anywere near unlocking the ability to play a Force sensitive character.

I had no clue people even became Jedi yet. I thought all the Jedi were still just NPC's (Non-Playable Characters).

Either way, you get three deaths as a Jedi before you permanently die, so it's not something I would wanna try anyway, because that doesn't seem like much fun for me. Though, if you become master, you DO get to be a blue glowy ghost. Bah, oh well.

As of a couple of days ago exactly one person out of over 250,000 players has unlocked the force-sensitive slot that allows you to play a jedi. YAAAAAWWWWWNNNNNN, wake me when it's fun! 🙂

I gotaa agree with Jeff on this one. How boring is that? I saw the package in my local branch of W. H. Smith's today and wanted to buy it, but it's not what I want out of the Star Wars experience. Give me the chance of playing a Padawan Jedi in the days of the war against the remenant or the battles against the Yuhzan Vhong and I'll be interested. the sort of experience I'm getting from the latest Jedi Knight game with Jaden Korr would be cool, but on a more interactive level.

On the other hand, I highly recommend Knights of the Old Republic, which I think is one of the best Star Wars games ever, if not the very best.

Is there an interactive, online capability to it Jeff?

no, strictly single-player unfortunately.

What? Its a freakin D20 system. Its a D20 game. Its god awful.

As for the lack of Jedi in SWG...isnt that cool? Isnt that how its *supposed* to be? Essentialy you have to pick up holocrons from fallen bad guys which give you clues to which skills you must learn, and stuff like that. And eventualy, you get Jedi-ness.

They just realised player-mounts and the ability to build you own cities and towns, which is all good IMHO 🙂
