A hilarious Startrek spoof movie starts in Germany today: "Traumschiff Surprise, Periode I" (Dreamship Surprise, a pun on Spaceship Enterprise). The maker is the famous German comedian Bully Herwig, the producer of other incredibly successful movie spoofs (e.g. "The Shoe of Manitou", a Wild-West spoof).
He and his team play a totaly homosexual Enterprise crew, with lots of Leslie Nielsen style slapstick, but also with grotesque humor somewhere between Mel Brooks and Monty Python.
Unfortunately, most of the gags can't be translated into English. A few of them: a transvestite Vulcanian (they call him a "Vulcanette", his name is Spook), warp speed becomes "Pug Speed", and they argue like a quartet of old queers. I guess this movie would even elicit a chuckle from Mr. Spock... 😛
