tieler, I agree with you. Another guy who I think belongs there is Tommy John. Yes, he didn't make it to 300 wins, but, he had a 288-231 career record, with a 3.34 ERA, and he missed half the 1974 season, and all of 1975, with a career threatening injury. Not to mention the fact that the procedure he underwent, now has saved the careers of several other Hall worthy pitchers, namely John Smoltz, who would have been finished at age 34 in 1999, without it, and never would have been the dominant stopper, and now great starting pitcher, that he is today.
Blyleven and Morris definitely belong in the Hall. Sometimes the writers aren't too kind. Tom Seaver got in on his first try, but Phil Niekro, who had seven more career wins than Seaver, had to wait until his fifth year to get in.
I dont understand how the writers think sometimes. Another case is Dale Murphy. 398 homers, 2 MVP's, and he's not in, but Gary Carter is.
I think the Hall election process should be changed. It should be 1-3 fans,
1-3 managers, and 1-3 writers. This way, it is more of a balance. I dont know if that will ever be, though.
