Sugar Shane Mosley puts Antonio Margarito's lights out in the ninth round.

I like Mosley, but I gotta admit I was suprised, Mosley was a 4 to 1 underdog, and at age 37, I thought his skills were on the decline.

any boxing fans here with their own thoughts?

I don't know a great deal about Mosley but I know he was good, but even at that I was surprised; my money was always on Margarito. Mosley's always been tough as old boots but he had 7 years on Margarito, who's a bit of a monster in his own right, and I honestly thought he might be pushing it a bit. Shows what I know xD

Well done Shane Mosley 😀 Now go and retire and leave your legacy intact kthx

Well, thats the issue,....and i've noticed Mosley slurring his words in some interviews, so he better seriously consider ending his carreer on a positive note, if only for health concerns.....the problem is the boxing talent and the money is in the light to welterweight classes, so there's still good money to be made if Shane wants it......

I've been following Shane Mosley's carreer for a while, he's a local Southern california guy, and I saw him fight live a few times, the most recent a few years ago at Ceasars Palace Las vegas.

Mosley's lost a little speed, was never really known as a devestating puncher, but four rapid punches at 65 to 70 percent power still hurt, and Shane wears down his opponents when he can maintain that speed throughout the fight. The problem is he has not always been able to maintain that speed, and some opponents just have better defense against it. I truly thought Margarito was gonna be able to defend and win this fight. And Margarito clearly had the majority of the crowd behind him.

just goes to show , you never underestimate the heart of a champion. 🙂

No, though when that heart presses you to continue fighting when you really should've quit that can be a problem; and if you're slurring your words it's maybe time to find another career rather than carry on fighting :-s

Have you heard the rumours of the Tyson-Holyfield rematch some Arabian sheikh is trying to put together?...

Did not hear about that rematch, Scruff, but it would not suprise me in the least....those two boobs blew through nearly half a billion dollars in their combined carreers, and now they are broke. Incredible

I think that the hevyweight boxing ranks are pretty thin on talent, and the real fights are in the light to welterweight ranks.

Any heavyweight bum like a Buster Douglas is just one well timed lucky punch away from the heavyweight boxing crown. I dont even follow the heavyweights any more. Who's on top in the heavyweight ranks? Is it still the glass jawed Klitchko brothers?
