You want the news reports to report about the boyfriends, do I have that right? You think that it is some kind of media conspiracy that makes them not to report that bit of information? She does something illegal, and now you want the media to hound the innocent boyfriend/girlfriend? Do I have this right?

Tiger Woods was caught cheating with many women. Kobe Bryant cheated on his wife.
Sandra Bullock's husband cheated on her. Halle Berry's husband cheated on her.

Did the media go after the wives, and ask them how they felt about it, or where where they in all of this?
Nope. They went after the men, and partially put the spotlight on the other women who then fade into obscurity.
They put a picture of the wives on the magazine front page, usually when they have a somber look on their faces, or an upset look.

You can play devil's advocate, and ask where were the parents in all of this.
But parents are usually clueless, or go along with it...when it's a boy. They only go ape when it's a male teacher and a girl.
The reason they leave out the parents is because the boys are minors who have to remain unidentified. Locals know the parents, of course.

I notice whenever I see considerably more emotional news articles, they tend to seek more comments from women.

If you're talking about male vs female newscasters, I'd say the ratio is fairly even.

This video is fairly interesting. .....same "witness" gets interviewed at 3 different "crisis" events.
When you hear about these incidents of sexual misconduct, men are kind of lambasted with an article essentially translating to "look at this pig, look what he did, how could he" while women seem to give more statements, have a better mugshot, and are put in a more sympathetic light (unless they're real "monsters").

It's not about power, it's just that men generally aren't as sought out in media reports unless the articles are specifically about them (in my opinion).
