Superman fans-If tue may be the best news of all in recent weeks

As if the firing of McG, the tossing in the trash of the J.J.Abrams script,and the apearant firing of John Peters (I want a gay Jimmy Oleson and a gay robot in this film) were'nt enough, the Superman V website is reporting that Richard Donner (Director of Superman 1 and original director of 2), his wife Lauren Schuler Donner (Producer of both X-Men movies), and Superman himself Christopher Reeve are in talks to produce the new Bryan Singer directed Superman movie. Again, this may just be a rumor, but if true, Warner's has finally really decided to stop f'ing around.

We can exclusively reveal that Richard Donner and his wife Lauren Schuler-Donner are in "deep negotiations" with WB. With Neal Moritz and Gilbert Adler now gone Superman needs a new production team and S-V couldn't think of anyone better than the Donner's. And it gets better! A reliable source informs us that Christopher Reeve will be offered a role in producing this movie!! It is unknown what his exact role will be but if all things go according to plan Reeve will be involved.

With news that the Script is well underway and John Ottman is editing and scoring, filming is still being talked about happening this year. We could hear something very soon and with WB having a heavy presence at the San Diego Comic-Con this weekend there could be some sort of Super-anouncement then. Take that with the customary grain of salt tho.

Not sure I like the Ottman thing, but he was able to faithrully stay true to the orignal score of the first X-men film for the second one, so this could be good. He was also able to take John Carpenter's Halloween themes and turn them into something cool for Halloween H2O, so this may not be a bad thing. And I am sure with Donner on board, he will demand a score based on Williams first score. Still, I really wish John Williams was on board for this though. again, this may not be true, but here's to hoping.

With regards to Reeve possibly being on board to produce too, this coudl happen. Reeve was brought in quite a few times as a consultant to the other directors attached. In fact, he was the one instrumental in taking the J.J. Abrams script from darker to the lighter that Superman is supposed to be. So I know Warner's has a vested interest in Reeve and his opinion on the past scripts, so this is a very believable stance for Warner's to take.
