Now that my Army service is through, including 2 awesome years in Iraq, Im headin back home to the greatest city in the world. I got a ridiculous job offer I cant pass up, so I need advice from my fellow Chicagoans. Its been a long time since Ive been back to the city, and was wonderin if you guys could point out some good places to hang out and have a drink. My ideal place is someplace thats not completely insane. I dont need 500 people with flashin lights and sweaty bodies dancin to Taylor Swift with their 14 dollar Rum and Cokes. I guess the word im lookin for for a place is "chill." Some place with good people. Doesnt have to be a hole in the wall, I dont mind a few people. And good music. Im a realist I know im not gonna stumble upon a place playin Thursday or Avenged Sevenfold, but someplace with tolerable music would be alright for me. Back in the day I used to go with my dad to Buddy Guy's Legends. Im a bass player and I love the blues, but that place caters to the older folk, and Id much rather hang out with people my age. So any suggestions my friends?
